Forum for Young Canadians – Are you interested in community issues and the potential to make a difference? Apply for this free three-day forum in Vancouver.
The Democratic Engagement Exchange, in collaboration with the Rideau Hall Foundation, is producing the first-ever regional Forum for Young Canadians in Vancouver from November 21-23, 2024.
This unique three-day, in-person program provides youth an opportunity to connect with change leaders and elected representatives from across the lower mainland. It culminates in Vancouver city hall with youth presenting their vision for the changes they want to see to elected leaders. Along the way youth will gain the tools, skills, and community connections they need to become lifelong advocates and leaders in their communities. Thanks to the generous support of the Rideau Hall Foundation, the program is free to all participants including all meals, and accommodations during the program and evening activities.
Who Should Apply:
We are looking for young changemakers, particularly students from diverse backgrounds, aged 14-18 living in Lower Mainland BC. Formal leadership experience is not required.
Youth can apply at www.forum.ca/vancouver and the deadline for applications is Wednesday, October 23. We encourage interested youth to apply asap as spaces are limited. Applicants will be accepted based on their potential as community leaders and interest in making change.
UBC Faculty of Medicine recently launched the MD Outreach Youth Mentorship Program.
This program connects high school students with UBC Medical Students to learn more about being a university student, learning about self-care, and applying to UBC medical school.
