This winter, we will be having a Lip Sync Music Video competition. Get your friends, team, club, or class together to submit your entry. Prizes will be given out to the top three student videos this holiday season. Student videos must include a minimum of five students, and the video must be at least 90 seconds in length. There are posters around the school for sign-up, or you can come to the office to scan the QR code. Videos will be due Monday, December 15th, and will be aired at the Winter Assembly as we announce our winners.
A reminder to grade 12s whose name begins with K, & L.A, that your Check-In and Reflection meeting is today at Focus in Room 304.
The Youth Clinic is now on Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00.

The Art & Culture Trip will be selling Pizza on Friday at lunchtime to fundraise for next summer’s trip.

Designed by Songhees artist Butch Dick and carved by Clarence Dick, Sno’uyutth (Snow-why-ith) stands as a symbol of reconciliation and cultural respect. The Senior Theatre Company proudly presents Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice, running on the 17th and 18th of December. Doors open at 6:30, curtain up at 7 pm. $5 for Students and seniors, $10 for Adults. Tickets available online or with cash at the door.
The Interact Club will be running a concession (by donation) during intermission, with the proceeds going to The Victoria Transition House. Cash is preferred, but there will be a machine available, too.
The Swim Team had a great showing at Provincials in Richmond this past weekend, with the final results of 10th in the Mixed Medley relay, 4th in the Mixed Freestyle Relay, and 15th for Rowan Lawlor in 100m IM! Congratulations to the whole team for a very successful season.

Volunteering Opportunities
Greater Victoria Green Team is looking for volunteers for several days in November and December to help improve the environment. You will have an opportunity to plant native species and remove different invasive species. This is the type of volunteering that all students, including international students, can take part in. ReStore is looking for volunteers. They have two locations – Victoria ReStore at 721 Vanalman Avenue, and Westshore ReStore at 849 Orono Avenue. Both stores support Habitat Victoria, helping to raise funds for local working families to achieve affordable homeownership in our local communities. ReStores are open 7 days per week, with a particular need for weekend volunteers. Student volunteer shifts are 2-4 hours between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (11:00 am – 5:00 pm on Sundays). Students are welcome to request specific shifts, and we can be very flexible for the most part. More specifics on this can be discussed at the time of application. They ask that students commit to at least their full 30 hours with us (100 for WEX). On-the-job training is provided. Anyone under 19 years must have a parent/guardian’s permission. 16+ only. ReStore volunteer duties can include, but are not limited to:
- Receiving and sorting donations
- Cleaning and tagging donations
- Merchandising the store floor
- Keeping the store clean and tidy
- Moving furniture and merchandise
- Assisting customers
