An Oak Bay Alumni from UBC Faculty of Medicine will be in the Career Centre on November 21st at lunch. He will explain the MD admissions process and his journey to becoming a medical student.

The Art and Culture Trip is on again! Do you like Art Galleries? This trip includes over 24 Art Galleries, Museums, and Iconic Historical Places. This famous adventure of a lifetime is taking off for London, Ancient Roman Baths, Stonehenge, Paris, and Pasta and Mask Making in Florence Italy and so much more. This is a 16-day trip in the first two weeks of July 2026, spots fill up fast, please see Ms. Wright in room 146 for the brochure which has all the details and application. Both Application and deposit are required to secure a spot. An important Parent Student Trip Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 6 pm in the Art Room 146.

Royal Jubilee Hospital Medical Imaging is hosting an Open House on Nov. 23rd at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Come and explore MRT Medical Radiation Technology careers, with X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine Work BC (https://www.workbc.ca/career-profiles/medical-radiation-technologists ) $47.65 hour, 2-year diploma. This program connects high school students with UBC Medical Students to learn more about being a university student, learning about self-care, and applying to UBC medical school. A local senior is looking for someone to help her with gardening for winter 2024 and spring 2025. The work will vary depending on the time of the year, racking, weeding etc. The work will be paid at $20/ hour and she expects it will be about 2 hours/week to start. The schedule will be worked out to accommodate her and you. She would like you to write a short biography about yourself, a bit of personal background, focus at school, plans for the future, and broader interests.
