Oak Bay will host an all-grade Writing Contest with submissions due on Monday, April 13th at 11:59 PM.  The two categories are a short story and a poem.  For more information, scan the QR codes around the school.

Reminder to all Grade 12s that your 30 Hours of Work/Volunteer Experience is due on Thursday, April 2.  Please complete and submit your form to your Capstone Advisor.

Gustavson School of Business at UVic is hosting an online workshop titled “Finance 101: Personal Finance for Students Preparing for College and University.” Dr. Michael King will facilitate this interactive session, aimed at bolstering students’ financial readiness for university life. The workshop promises a glimpse into Gustavson’s approach to finance, while covering topics like budgeting, saving, establishing credit, and more.   The session will take place on Thursday, April 9th (new date) at 6 p.m. PSTPlease register for the session here

McMaster University is hosting a student event for offer holders and any Grade 10 & 11 students who want to know more about McMaster University.  The event will be held in the Chapel at St. Michaels University on April 9 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The BIPOC Teen Art ResidencyAt Victoria Art Gallery. Free for teens in grades 10, 11, or 12 who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Colour. This after-school program is a unique opportunity for teens to make contemporary art in workshops facilitated by local BIPOC artists, along with the opportunity to share their voice through podcasts, a published art catalogue of their work and a group exhibition at the Gallery.

International Experience Canada A government program that offers Canadians (aged 18 – 35) to work and travel abroad in more than 35 partner destinations.

Royal Canadian Navy’s Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton (FMFCB), which is at the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, is hiring students for their Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) from July 2 to August 26. This program is available to high school students in grades 11 & 12 who have an interest in working in the unique trades to support repair work to the naval fleet.  These civilian positions provide 8 weeks of paid work experience supporting the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN).  2026 Wages – New FSWEP student – $18.69 / Returning FSWEP student – $19.78  – please note the new wages don’t come out until May, so this may increase. Application Packages Can be picked up in the career centre and must be completed in full and submitted by email to, esqfmfapprentices@forces.gc.ca  no later than the end of the day 06 April 2026.

PISE is excited to announce that the TD Family Sport and Recreation Festival, will take place on Saturday, May 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at PISE. This is a FREE community event, and we are looking forward to welcoming families from across the region.   We are currently seeking student volunteers who are interested in supporting the festival.  Interested students should click the link to a Google Form (https://forms.gle/wwDpzrzxxBzN5NU49)  to sign up. 

Are you a student leader interested in a volunteer opportunity for high school students in community service, event planning, and making a meaningful impact?  MS Canada is currently recruiting students to join their volunteer planning committee for their MS Walk in various roles, including Volunteer Coordinator, Route Coordinator, and Promotions Coordinator, as well as Day-of-Event Volunteers.  Committee members attend one virtual meeting per month and volunteer in person on event day. The 2026 Victoria MS Walk takes place on Sunday, May 31st.
