UPDATE: The school looks forward to inviting students and staff back into the building on Friday, June 19. On July 18, the Oak Bay Fire Department responded to a fire in a washroom at Oak Bay High School. All students and staff have been evacuated and are safe. As recommended by the Fire Department, students and staff are not to reenter the building and, as a result, have been dismissed for the rest of the day. If students must return to the building to retrieve an urgent personal item from the school, they can arrive at the main entrance of the building at 3:00pm today. A member of the Fire Department will retrieve the item for the student. Please do not arrive before 3:00pm. We thank the school staff, students, and Oak Bay Fire Department for their swift response and evacuation.
