SCHOOL MUSICAL – “Legally Blonde” tickets are on sale. Dates are: Feb. 24,25, Mar. 1, 2, 3 & 4 7:30 pm.   Matinee  Feb. 26 at 2:00 pm.

GIRLS RUGBY – Practice is cancelled today due to the weather. Practices will be next week on Monday & Wednesday.

 BADMINTON – Students interested in playing and competing on the Badminton Team – there will be a meeting at lunch today in Room 212.

ATTENTION TENNIS PLAYERS  – Oak Bay Tennis Tryout dates are Feb. 10th and 13th in the morning in the Tennis Bubble.  New players are welcomed and needed.

GRADE 9 BOYS BASKETBALL – Please excuse the Gr. 9 Boys Basketball Team from Block 6 and 7 as they have a playoff game at Royal Bay at 2:15 this afternoon.

PYJAMA DAY – Tomorrow Feb. 9th  – wear your pyjamas!

CANDY GRAMS – Hey Oak Bay! Come on down to the common area by the cafeteria today to buy a candy gram for that special someone! They are only $2.00!  Have a great day Oak Bay!

FOODSAFE – Ms. Simpson will be offering Foodsafe in Block 1,4,5,6, & 8 starting the week of Feb. 20th.  If you have a spare during one of those blocks and would like to take the course please see Ms. Simpson in Rm. 143.  Cost is $35.00.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP – Mr. Ammon, A UVic researcher and secondary teacher in the district needs your help to conduct a study of Grade 12 students participating in a student leadership course (SLC).  If you are interested in being a participant, please contact Mr. Ammon via email directly: rammon@sd61.bc.ca.  Subject line: Student Leadership Study.  The study will begin in the next few weeks.

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL – is having an introductory meeting for those who are interested. There will be snacks so bring your friends and join us!  Everyone welcome!

CAREER CENTRE – Applications are now open for the 2017 Vancouver Island Youth Parliament Session, March 10-12 on Salt Spring Island.  VIYP provides a forum in which youth can develop skills in leadership, public speaking, and the parliamentary process, and put these skills into practice through service to youth in their community.  More information and applications are in the Career Centrer.  Application deadline is March 1st to Mrs. Giesbrecht.  If you have any questions contact Sophie Sacilotto (sophiesacilotto@mgail.com).

*Butchart Gardens- is looking to hire students for its busy season. Applications and information can be found in the Career Centre for food services, visitor services, custodial services, Seed and Gift Store, and gardening.
