 GRADS – It’s the time you’ve been waiting for – it’s time to order your Grad Wear available for 2 weeks only!  Deadline to order is February 26, 2017.   This year you will order and prepay all your grad wear online.

log onto https://store.passionsports.ca/obgrad and register customize your gear – choose your item, logo, colour, and size   ***If you wish to confirm a size before you place your order, visit Nutty’s Locker during lunch time February 14-17 and February 20-23th to try on sample sizes.   If lunch time does not work for you, please contact Ms. Taggart in Room 304 or at rtaggart@sd61.bc.ca to arrange an alternate time.

GRAD 2017 – All the information you and your grads need to know about Oak Bay High Grad 2017 is available on the school website. To access this information from the website, select “Student Info” – “Oak Bay High School Grad 2017” and then click on the appropriate grad hat.  This year we will not be emailing information to parents and students individually.  The Grad 2017 website will be updated as more information is available.

YEARBOOKS – The yearbook lists are posted outside the Accounts Office next to the main office. If your name is on the list you have already purchased a yearbook.  If you are not on the list and you wish to order a yearbook you still can until Tuesday Feb. 28th  from Ms. Carbery.  The cost is $55.00.  Please do not phone or email the school regarding your order.  If you have any questions about the list please see Ms. Carbery in Accounts.

JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER: There will be a meeting in room 311 for all grade 9 and 10 girls interested in playing soccer this Thursday (Feb 16) at LUNCH! The first try out will be Tue Feb 21 from 3:15-5.

TENNIS TRY OUTS – this  Friday Feb 17th and Monday 20th at 7am in 4 court Bubble.  SIgn up on Mr. Spray’s Website

GIRLS RUGBY – Practice will be today.

 MATH CHALLANGERS TEAM and Alternates. Please meet with Mr. Carter in Rm. 307 after school today  Wednesday to arrange rides and for final instructions for Friday’s contest.

 SCHOOL MUSICAL – “Legally Blonde” tickets are on sale. Show Dates are: Feb. 24, 25, Mar. 1, 2, 3 & 4 7:30 pm.   Matinee  Feb. 26 at 2:00 pm.

FOODSAFE – Ms. Simpson will be offering Foodsafe in Block 1,4,5,6, & 8 starting next week- Feb. 20th.  If you have a spare during one of those blocks and would like to take the course please see Ms. Simpson in Rm. 143.  Cost is $35.00.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP – Mr. Ammon, A UVic researcher and secondary teacher in the district needs your help to conduct a study of Grade 12 students participating in a student leadership course (SLC).  If you are interested in being a participant, please contact Mr. Ammon via email directly: rammon@sd61.bc.ca. Subject line: Student Leadership Study.  The study will begin in the next few weeks.

CAREER CENTRE – Applications are now open for the 2017 Vancouver Island Youth Parliament Session, March 10-12 on Salt Spring Island.  VIYP provides a forum in which youth can develop skills in leadership, public speaking, and the parliamentary process, and put these skills into practice through service to youth in their community.  More information and applications are in the Career Centrer.  Application deadline is March 1st to Mrs. Giesbrecht.  If you have any questions contact Sophie Sacilotto (sophiesacilotto@mgail.com).

*Butchart Gardens- is looking to hire students for its busy season. Applications and information can be found in the Career Centre for food services, visitor services, custodial services, Seed and Gift Store, and gardening.
