FRUIT AND VEGGIE PROGRAM – We have “Tomatoes!” During Advisory,  send a runner to foods room 143 under the stairs to collect your tomatoes for your Advisory today.

SCHOOL PHOTO AND STUDENT ID CARDS –  Advisory teachers please find your Advisory’s school photos and Student ID cards in your mail drawers in the office and hand them out today to your students in your advisory.

OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING – All those wanting to try Olympic Weightlifting please be in the weight-room TODAY at 5pm.  Everyone is welcome!

 BEST BUDDIES – meeting at the start of lunch tomorrow in room 300.  (Tuesday Oct. 4)

SWIM CLUB – swimmers forms must be turned in ASAP. Registration deadline is today. (Monday)

THURSDAY – COPS FOR CANCER – TOUR DE ROCK ARRIVES AT Oak Bay –  C4C GRADE CHALLENGE –  outside the Accounts office are –  4 water jugs. One for each grade to fill up with $money for our Cops for Cancer campaign. Drop by and empty the change in your pockets  into your grade’s  jug and  let’s  get this  C4C challenge going….. win some awesome prizes! Outdoor Pursuits Club

OUTDOOR PURSUITS CLUB –If you are looking for something to do in Advisory today please tell your students there is an Outdoor Pursuits Club starting.  The first meeting is this  Wednesday, at Lunch in Ms. Horton’s Room (Room 311).     Students will learn plant and animal identification, navigational tools, how to build a fire, hiking skills and much more.  The year will culminate with hiking the Juan de Fuca Trail in May.  Here is video from Stelly’s doing a similar thing that will hopefully pump the kids up and spur some interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKlL8vqiM-k or check out www.classwithmrshorton.weebly.com see Ms. Horton or Mr. Turner with questions.

 GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY – Girls Development Field Hockey Team has a game today at GNS at 4:30 (please be there by 3:45).  Practice at Oak Bay Rec indoor turf on Tuesday AM from 6:50-8:00.  It is important that all girls attend all games and practices whenever possible.

GRADE 9 – reminder to please hand in your white “Immunization Consent Form” envelope into the office, deadline is TODAY Monday Oct. 3rd.

 CAREER CENTRE –Oak Bay students are invited to attend a Vancouver Island College Event (30 American colleges/universities) at St. Michael’s University next Tuesday October 11th from 3:30 to 5:30 in the small gym.  Students can see a list of the colleges attending on a poster outside the Career Centre.  There is no need to register for this event.

* PSAT – Attention grade 11 students interested in heading to a US university after high school.  You will have an opportunity to write the Practice SAT, (PSAT) on October 19th here at Oak Bay.  There is a $20.00 fee to write the exam and seating is limited.  Students will be offered a seat on a first come first served basis.  See Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you would like to sign-up

*Mark your calendar and register early.  BROWN, CORNELL, DARTMOUTH, HARVARD, PENN, PRINETON & STANFORD will be in town on Sunday October 16th.  If you plan to apply to one of these universities you may attend an information session at 7:00 pm at Glenlyon Norfolk School 801 Bank St.  register on line or call them.
