If you are in grade 10, 11 or 12 and are interested in speaking with a number of keen employers about potential summer employment opportunities, don’t hesitate to register for this amazing event! Some of the trade areas featured will include sheet metal, welding, electrical, sprinkler systems, joinery, drywall, painting, carpentry, lathing, floor laying, cement finishing, reinforcing steel, insulation, plumbing, and air conditioning. Looking for a special volunteer experience? Volunteer with iCan Bike July 10-14 at Oak Bay High School (half-day shifts—morning or afternoon) The iCan Bike Camp teaches children with cognitive and/or physical challenges how to ride a conventional two-wheeled bike. Queen Alexandra Centre is seeking physically fit volunteers age 16+ who are eager to help a child or youth with special needs to learn to ride a two-wheeled bike and to make this year’s camp a success.
