JUNIOR BOYS SOCCER –  will be away at the Island Championships today.

LEADERSHIP STUDENTS – who signed up for the Craigflower Project, there is a mandatory meeting in room 302 today at lunch.

 ME TO WE – There will be a mandatory meeting today at lunch in room 304 for all this year’s participants.

STRINGS STUDENTS – Oak Bay Strings rehearsal is from 3:15-4:15 pm today and Thursday this week.  Next, all String students are participating in the concert from 7-8 pm in the gym at Mt. Douglas Secondary on Tuesday and again from 7-8 pm in the gym at Lansdowne Middle School on Thursday.  Students need to arrive by 6:30 pm for tuning at both concerts.

GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY –  Please excuse the girls of the Sr. Girls Field Hockey Team, after block 6 (first block today, as they travel to Shawnigan Lake School to play a qualifying game to get into the BC’s.  They will leave at 9:35 a.m. and return at 3:00 pm.  Here are the members of the team:   Carmen Andiel, Dannika Lloyd Jones, Rae-Lynn Parkins, Hannah Charlesworth, Judy Cristante, Cara Butler, Sophia Berk, Emma Whittaker, Reilly Sinclair, Maddie Gaul, Sarah Bryant, Annika Hall, Nora Struchtrup, Lexi Knight, Carol Torp, Emily Jackson and Libby Hogg.

 BALLROOM DANCE CLUB – Have you ever wanted to dance the cha cha, waltz or jive?  ALL students and staff are invited to join our Ballroom Dance Club!  We will have a FREE workshop today after school (3:15p.m. – 4:00p.m.) in the Dance Studio!  Come see what it’s all about!!

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – The deadline to order your international t-shirt is this Friday, Nov. 4 reminder that your order form and $15.00 are due if you want a  T-shirt.  Hand in Orders to Mr. Zolbrod, Mr. Turner or Karen Z.

THE CULTURAL CONNECTION – is hosting a “Dia de los Muertos” party this Friday Nov. 4 in the Cafeteria at 2:30.  All students are welcome,  please sign-up in room 202.

 CRAIGFLOWER SCHOOL BAKE SALE – tomorrow November 2nd. At lunch. Help us raise money for Craigflower’s sports equipment

“WHERE’S NUTTY” – here is this week’s clue from Student Council – “In a room concerned with numbers,   where lollies are found a plenty,    Under a book that claims to make you rich’  Go find Nutty, that’s the ‘sitch!”

 FOOD SAFE- anyone who took the ”Foods Safe” course last year can pick up your certificate in Ms. Simpson’s room 143.

JUNIOR B GIRLS BASKETBALL – practice this Thursday at 7:30 AM in the small gym. Everyone welcome!

GRADE 9’S – who did not receive their Immunization shot last week can do so this Friday November 4. Forms are in the office, please take it home to fill out and return it to the office asap.

“OPEN MIC” – Open Mic night auditions, held on Thurs. Nov. 10th at 3:30 in the Theatre.  Anyone can sing, dance play an instrument, do comedy or magic tricks.  Cash prize.  Sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the Black-Box If interested join Oak Bay High’s Open Mic night Facebook page.  Open Mic Night is on Thursday Nov. 24 @ 7:00pm.

CAREER CENTRE – The Canadian Armed Forces is having an information session on  Thursday November 3rd from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at 827 Fort St.   Students will have an opportunity to discuss careers for the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force.  You will also gain some insight into the military lifestyle, discuss the physical fitness test requirements, learn how to navigate the online application process and have any of your questions answered by a recruiter.
