* All students who have signed up for the Dual Credit Geography or Psychology courses need to attend a meeting THE LIBRARY at lunch TODAY –   Tuesday March 8th.  Please come prepared to complete at two page application form and discuss English assessment testing.

DUKE OF EDINBURG PARTICIPANTS –   there will be a meeting at lunch tomorrow-Wednesday March 9th. Ask your questions and get your answers.

CHESS CLUB – reminder at lunch today in Mr. Lienard’s room 221.

LOST AND FOUNDAll lost and found items will be on display in the hall outside the office. Take only what belongs to you. This Friday the leftovers will be donated to WIN. Teachers may add to the table with any items left in their classroom.

OAK BAY SAILING CLUB – sailors please get your registration forms in to Mr. Schippers Room 312, by Friday or right after Spring Break Tuesday March 29th.
BCSPCA BAKE SALE – There will be a BCSPCA Bake Sale this Saturday March 12 – 10:00am 1:00pm in front of the Oak Bay Pharmasave. Bakers can receive volunteer hours for their baked goods. Please bring any items to room 304 by this Friday or drop off baked items at Parmasave between 9:30-10:00.

 

CAREER CENTRE – *The Victoria Highland Games & Celtic Festival is looking for volunteers.  There are lots of volunteering options.  Something for everyone.  Please come to the Career Centre to receive information on how to apply or go to http://victoriahighlandgames.com/games/participate/volunteers/

*A Sailor for a Day – Students who are 16 years old or older are invited to check out the waters with Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) MALAHAT’s unique “Sailor for a Day” program, on March 23, 2016.   This program is specifically designed with secondary level students in mind and with the intention of promoting awareness for those who may be interested in a part-time career with the Royal Canadian Navy.   This day will provide you with the following unique opportunities:    · To experience the exhilarating operation of a Ridged Hull Inflatable Boa (RHIB) on the waters off Victoria.         · To learn about the rich history of the Royal Canadian Navy and Navy Reserve.   · Learn the practical skill sets in sea survival and life raft training in a pool setting. Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht for an application if you are interested.

* Volunteer Opportunity – Margaret Jenkins is looking for 6-8 volunteers to do some child-minding on Monday, April 11th.  You need to be at the school by 6:15pm and would be finished by 8:45pm. The ages of the children are 3 -10yrs. You will be playing games, reading and colouring with them in the library while the parents listen to the speaker in the gym.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.

 

BELLY BALL TOURNAMENT – April 4-7 at lunch -there will be a Belly-Ball Tournament in the big gym. The Sigh-Up sheet is in the office. $5. Per team (6-8 players) Prize for the winners.

CRAIGFLOWER PROJECT – is collecting used or new books suitable for K – grade 5. Please hand in any suitable books to the boxes located on the first floor – Library and the Dance Studio. On the Second floor outside room 217 (Roberts).   Ends this Friday March 11th. Thank you for providing books to our small friends.

JELLY BEAN CONTEST – The winner of the Jelly Bean Count Contest is Alex Cavelti with a guess of 303. There were 304!

STUDENT STORE – Are you looking for Oak Bay Wear and accessories ?
