MARINE BIO TRIP – to Mexico “Sea of Cortez” meeting tonight – Tuesday March 1st. 7:00 pm in room 231. For information, talk to Mr. Atkinson or Mr. Shrubsole up in Science.

BADMINTON-Tryouts this week continue today- Tuesday and Thursday after school!

JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER –  TRY OUTS will be today-Tueday March 1 and Thurs. March 3 at Carnarvon Park.

DUKE OF EDINBURG PARTICIPANTS – there will be a meeting tomorrow Wednesday March 2nd. at lunch in room 304 (Taggart) Bring your questions and get the answers you need.

CRAIGFLOWER PROJECT – is collecting used or new books suitable for K – grade 5. Please hand in any suitable books to the boxes located on the first floor – Library and the Dance Studio. On the Second floor outside room 217 (Roberts).   Ends Friday March 11th. Thank you for providing books to our small friends.

JELLY BEAN COUNT – Fundraiser for the SPCA. Continues to Friday – March 4th. in the Student Plaza at lunch. .50 cents a guess. (Community Leadership)

WHERE’S NUTTY? – the “Where’s Nutty” clue for this week is “ It has keys that won’t open a door,   made of wood just like an oar. Fills the room with beautiful sound…..this is where Nutty is found!

 

CAREER CENTRE – All students who have signed up for the Dual Credit Geography or Psychology courses need to attend a meeting in RM 312 at lunch on Tuesday March 8th.  Please come prepared to complete at two page application form and discuss English assessment testing.

* Volunteer Opportunity – Margaret Jenkins is looking for 6-8 volunteers to do some child-minding on Monday, April 11th.  You need to be at the school by 6:15pm and would be finished by 8:45pm. The ages of the children are 3 -10yrs. You will be playing games, reading and colouring with them in the library while the parents listen to the speaker in the gym.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.

*Two grads will be in the Career Centre on Tuesday March 1st at lunch to talk about their Lattitude volunteer abroad experience.  If you are headed off to volunteer with Lattitude next year or would just like more information at this point please come and hear the presentation.

Oak Bay Ski Team Update- The girls’ ski team are crowned ISLAND CHAMPIONS with more than DOUBLE the amount of points of the 2nd place team.  We had two girls on the podium for ISLANDS…Patricia Horwood in 2nd place & Henrike Heintmann in 3rd.  The boys’ ski team are also ISLAND CHAMPIONS.  Oak Bay had two boys on the podium for ISLANDS…Logan Rampton in 2nd place and Liam Morgan in 3rd.     Awesome job to ALL TEAM MEMBERS!  What an awesome season!
