CAFETERIA SEATING AREA – will be closed at lunch today for Math Contests. It should be over before the end of

block 1. ALL STUDENTS writing the Pascal,  Cayley or Fermat Math contest, please go to the Cafeteria seating area  no later than – 12:40 today.

 VALEDICTORIAN ASSEMBLY – Today block 8 before lunch- for grade 12’s only – in the Theatre.

 GIRLS RUGBY – meeting at lunch today- Feb. 28 in room 200.

 Good luck to the Boys’ Ski Team who leave today for Provincials.  This is the first time ever that Oak Bay will be represented at the Provincial Championships for skiing and snowboarding.  Go FAST boys!  Make Oak Bay proud!

FREE DANCE SHOW – Come to the theatre at lunch on Wednesday, March 1st.  to see a FABULOUS and FREE dance show!  Students, Teachers, Staff, Everyone welcome!!

  SAILING TEAM –  Those students interested in the Sailing Team-first meeting next Monday in room 312 at lunch.  No experience required.

 SCHOOL MUSICAL – “Legally Blonde” tickets are on sale at the Accounts office –  4 Show Dates are: Mar. 1, 2, 3 & 4 7:30 pm.   Matinee  Feb. 26 at 2:00 pm.

 COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP STUDENTS – Please return your yellow leadership T-shirts immediately.

 YEARBOOKS – The yearbook lists are posted outside the Accounts Office next to the main office. If your name is on the list you have already purchased a yearbook.  If you are not on the list and you wish to order a yearbook you still can till today Tuesday Feb. 28th  from Ms. Carbery.  The cost is $55.00.  Please do not phone or email the school regarding your order.  If you have any questions about the list please see Ms. Carbery in Accounts.

 Mr. Turner requests – link is now working – “All students, please fill out the google form at bit.ly/oakbayquestions to answer survey questions for the yearbook.

GRAD 2017 – All the information you and your grads need to know about Oak Bay High Grad 2017 is available on the school website.  To access this information from the website, select “Student Info” – “Oak Bay High School Grad 2017” and then click on the appropriate grad hat.  This year we will not be emailing information to parents and students individually.  The Grad 2017 website will be updated as more information is available.

CAREER CENTRE – Rustic Pathways will be outside the Career Centre on Wed. March 1st. at lunch if you would like to learn more.   Rustic Pathways is an educational travel company that provides high school and gap year students with opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, embrace a new and different way of life, and make a positive impact on the world.

*The School of Health Information Sciences has rescheduled their open house for next Tuesday March 7th from 4:30 to 5:30 in the HSD Building, room A264. Join them for pizza and refreshments and learn about the rapidly expanding field of information technology in healthcare.

*James Bay Market is looking for about 6 volunteers to work in their Coffee Kiosk making coffee, serving the public, doing cash and some cleanup. They also have opportunities in the info tent handing out brochures to the locals and tourists and in our Children’s Area doing crafts with our young visitors who are always accompanied by an adult.   They are operated by the James Bay Market Society a non for profit society. Hours and shifts would be every Saturday from May 6 to September 30th from  8:15am to 12pm and 11:45am to 3:30pm.   The Children’s Area time is 10 to 2 in time.  Replies to info@jamesbaymarket.com
