Cayley (grade 10) is in Rm. 309 – TSpray’s room

Fermat (grade 11) in Rm. 307 – Jerry Carter’s.

As we have had so many sign-ups, the “extras”…anyone more than 30 to a room…will be writing in the 3rd floor hallway in a foldup desk. Students should try to arrive a minimum of 10 minutes before the end of lunch at those rooms to make sure of exactly where they are writing.
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL: tomorrow -Wednesday, February 24th is Amnesty’s Bring-A-Friend Day. All students are welcome in joining us in room 221 at lunch. We will be introduced to the international organization and you may choose to join the movement by writing letters for people whose basic human rights are being violated

 BADMINTON TRYOUTS – continue today and Thursday after school in the small gym.

 TOMORROW – Feb. 24 is the annual Pink Shirt Day, just one of many efforts to raise awareness to the bullying/harassment that many individuals endure. Wear your Pink! LEADERSHIP- will be selling Pink Shirts $5.00 and accessories at lunch , today and Wednesday in the Student Plaza.
CHESS CLUB – today at lunch in room 221.

WHERE’S NUTTY – Congrats to Reed Jones for finding Nutty last week! This week’s clue is-“Of all the rich places that I could be, behind the source of all evil is where you’ll find me!”

MARINE BIO TRIP – to Mexico “Sea of Cortez” meeting next Tuesday March 1st. 7:00 pm in room 231. For information, talk to Mr. Atkinson or Mr. Shrubsole up in Science.

 GRADE 9 DODGEBALL – (grade 9’s) – Student Council’s first annual Dodge ball Tournament today- Tuesday Feb. 23 at lunch in the big gym. All participating teams come 5 minutes early. All grade 9’s welcome to the Niner League. Dodgeball fans of all grades come watch and cheer them on!
JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER – All grade 9 and 10 girls interested in trying out for Junior Girls soccer, there will be a meeting in room 311 this Thursday Feb 25 at lunch. TRY OUTS will be Tue March 1 and Thurs. March 3 at Carnarvon Park
CAREER CENTRE – Acadia University will be in the Career Centre after school today- Tuesday February 23rd to speak with students who have applied to Acadia for next year and any students who are interested in what the university offers.

*Coast Capital Savings is looking to hire their Youth Team again this year. This is an opportunity for students entering grade 10 or 11 next September to work part time, represent Coast Capital at community events focus on a “for youth, by youth” approach to teaching financial literacy.  Successful applicants will be expected to work full time during the summer along with Saturdays and some evenings during the school year.  If you are interested in this great experience please see www.coastcapitalsavings.com/youthteam or come to the Career Centre for an information sheet.

*Video Gaming Work Experience – Attention Grade 11 and 12 students who like video gaming.  There is an opportunity to gain work experience in the field at one of the many gaming companies in Victoria.  The week-long placements will start on April 4th and be available until June 3rdOnline registration is open now and will close on Feb 26th.   Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht or Mr. Laird for more information or go to http://www.vicvideogames.com to apply.

OAK BAY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE PRESENTS – “Bye Bye Birdie” – Tickets on sale in the Accounts office next to the Office.  Adults – $12. Students/Seniors – $10.
