WATER IS LIFE” NETHERLANDS EXCHANGE PROGRAM – visit and experience the culture of the Netherlands through our partner school Maurick College, this school year. *INFORMATION MEETING is TODAY  at lunch in Room 233. See Mr. Shrubsole in room 233 for more information.

 AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL – we are looking for one or two volunteer students to register new members for the “Club Day” event happening at lunch next Thursday Sept. 22.  See Mr. Lienard in room 221.

OAK BAY STRINGS CLASS – the first Strings class has moved to this Tuesday Sept. 20, and will NOT be held today.  Strings classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30- 5:00pm with Ms. Haas.

JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – Tryouts tomorrow (Sept 15) from 2:30 – 4:00 and  Monday (Sept 19 yes, it is a Pro-d day) from 3:30 – 5:00pm. *Please note that games during the season are Monday after school.

CHOIR NEWS-  today- Junior Concert Choir at lunch.  Senior Concert Choir Women’s Choir at 7:25am on Friday.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP – For all Grade 11’s and 12’s interested in being a Leader this year, there is a Leader’s Workshop TODAY after school from 3-6pm.  Dinner will be provided.  Attendance is mandatory if you are interested in being a leader.  Please see Miss Taggart or Mr.  Kinnear if you have any issues or concerns.

C4C GRADE CHALLENGE – outside the Accounts office are –  4 water jugs. One for each grade to fill up with $money for our Cops for Cancer campaign!  The grade names that raises the most money in their jug will be entered in a draw to win some awesome prizes.  Drop by and empty the change in your pockets  into your grade’s  jug and  let’s  get this  C4C challenge going!

OPERA – Any interested students wanting to see the opera: Simon Boccanegra-Verdi –  dress  rehearsal  is on Tuesday, October 11 at the Royal Theatre @ 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 for students. See Manjit room 213 after school if interested.

SPEECH AND DEBATE –  meeting today at 3:15 in room 209 (Mr. Bradshaw).

ANY STUDENTS WHO PLAYS GOLF – you may be interested in the opportunity to go to Bear Mountain for the Pacific Links junior golf clinic on Sat. Sept 24th, which is in conjunction with the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship.  This is a Senior PGA tournament and will be attended by many members of the golf Hall of Fame such as Vijay Singh, Colin Montgomerie and John Cook. Some of these pros will be giving instruction during the clinic, and there will be other perks as well…golf equipment etc.  See Mr. Carter in room 307 if you are interested as soon as possible.

 JUNIOR BOYS SOCCER – Try-outs continue today on the TURF after school. Anyone who is interested needs to show up.

CAREER CENTRE –Rotary Student Exchange Applications are in the Career Centre.  The deadline to apply is Fri. Sept. 23rd.  please see Mrs. Giesbrecht for more details as soon as possible if you are interested.

* The University of Glasgow’s School of Veterinary Medicine will be at St. Michael’s University on Wednesday September 14th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.  3400 Richmond Rd.
