HALLOWEEN DANCE – tonight 7:00-10:00 pm. Tickets on sale in the Student Plaza at lunch today for $12.00.  Any students who are going to be late to the dance tonight must see Mr. Kinnear sometime today.

LEADERSHIP STUDENTS –interested students in setting up before the dance or cleaning up after the dance, please sign-up in room 300 at Mr. Kinnear’s desk.  This does count for volunteer hours.

BAKE SALE – There will be a fabulous frightening Bake Sale today at lunch in the Student Plaza.

SENIOR PEER COUNSELLORS – reminder – meeting today at lunch.

ME to WE:  There will be a mandatory meeting this Tuesday, November 1st. at lunch in Room 304 for all of this year’s ME to WE participants.

 GRADS -PLEASE  be at your Grad photo sitting appointment- 5 minutes early with your  $10.00 cash sitting fee.

GRADE 9’S – who did not receive their Immunization shot last week can do so next  Friday November 4. Forms are in the office, please take it home to fill out and return it to the office before noon tomorrow.

 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT GROUP PHOTO:  TODAY- Thurs. Oct. 27th, at 3:00pm, right after school, on the Social Staircase beside the cafeteria.  All international students please attend!  There will also be an important announcement for all international students right after the photo.

SCHOOL PHOTOS AND RETAKES – those who didn’t get a school photo or you need a re-take or Student ID card, Retake photo day is THIS Tuesday November 1st.

PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST ON HALLOWEEN – This Monday there will be a Pumpkin Carving contest in the Cafeteria seating area at lunch. We have 10 large pumpkins, so bring your friends.  There will be prizes!

BALLROOM DANCE CLUB – free workshop and demonstration this Tuesday Nov. 1, in the Dance Studio, 3:15-4pm. Jive, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba, Tango & Salsa!

WE SCARE HUNGER FOOD DRIVE -The Me to We Club  and Community Leadership is hosting a food drive for the Mustard Seed.  Please bring non-perishable food items to the boxes outside the Library.

 “OPEN MIC” – Open Mic night auditions, held on Thurs. Nov. 10th at 3:30 in the Theatre.  Anyone can sing, dance play an instrument, do comedy or magic tricks.  Cash prize.  Sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside the Black-Box If interested join Oak Bay High’s Open Mic night Facebook page.  Open Mic Night is on Thursday Nov. 4 @ 7:00pm.

CAREER CENTRE The Canadian Armed Forces is having an information session on November 3rd from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at 827 Fort St.   Students will have an opportunity to discuss careers for the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force.  You will also gain some insight into the military lifestyle, discuss the physical fitness test requirements, learn how to navigate the online application process and have any of your questions answered by a recruiter.

Volunteer Opportunity – Margaret Jenkins Elementary School is looking for creepy, scary and spooky students (and regular ones too) to help at the Fall Dance this Friday October 28th from 5-8pm.    Possible jobs:         1. “Haunt” our haunted theatre by being a spooky, slow moving statue or performing behind a white curtain a pantomime routine we have designed.  We can use 4 -6 students at this station!       2. Help serve food.  2 students?           3. Help with photo booth. 1 student          4. Help with craft table. 1 student        Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht for details on how to get involved.
