 INDOOR SOCCER TOURNAMENT –   indoor soccer tournament today at lunch IN THE Big Gym.

ADVISORY TEACHERS – please check your school photo packages to see if you have other advisory’s photos, and hand them into the office. We have students looking for them.  Retake photo orders are due at end of day today Nov. 17th.  to the office.

 28 HOUR FAMINE – For all students participating in the 28-hr. Famine next week, there will be a brief but very important meeting TODAY at lunch in room 304.

MATH MENTORSHIP – Please consider supporting your friends at OB through Math Mentorship.

Here are the specific needs

Block 1: We need math mentors in the resources rooms to act as peer tutors for math 9.

Block 3: We need a math mentor in a math 11 class to work with kids one on one during class time

Block 4: Math Mentors needed in math 9 class and resource room

Block 5: Math mentors needed in math 9 and 10 to work one on one during class time

Block 6: Math mentors needed in a resource room and a Math 9 class.

There are so many rewards for making a difference.

  1.  it feels good to help out.
  2.  You can receive credits
  3.  you can receive volunteer hours
  4.  you can receive reference letters on a completion of a successful assignment

The time commitment can anywhere from 1-3 hours a week

HOW TO APPLY POST SECONDARY – Mr. Alexander is offering an information session workshop on how to apply to  post-secondary, this Monday Nov. 21 in the Theatre at 7:00pm.  Mark your calendars,  all parents and Gr. 12’s welcome.

BARBABIAN RUGBY TRY-OUTS In the Oval – Juniors-grade 9-10-  Tues. Nov. 15 and Tues. Nov.22, 3:30-4:30. Seniors-grade 11 -12- Thurs. Nov. 17 and Thurs. Nov. 24, 3:30 – 4:30.  Bring a mouth-guard,  there will be tackling.  Any questions?? See Mr. Atkinson in room 231.

WHERE’S NUTTY – this week’s clue from Student Council is “ You will find “Nutty” under a hard place to write. If you look carefully, find him you might.  If someone pushes you might roll-away,  until you find him this is where Nutty will stay!”

CAREER CENTRE – University visits this week.   – University of Calgary will be in the Career Centre at lunch today November 17th.

* VICTORIA  TEA FESTIVAL – will take place from January 30th to February 4th and is looking for student volunteers.  There are many different ways to help out leading to the event as well as the week of the event.  The poster still has to be designed, media work is still required, and a variety of other duties need to be completed.  If you are interested please see the poster outside the Career Centre or contact Mrs. Giesbrecht with any questions you have.
