VOLUNTEERS NEEDED –     Oak Bay Alumni is holding an event here at Oak Bay High tomorrow evening, and is in need of student volunteers.  If you are interested in helping and in need of volunteer hours, please see Ms. Taggart room 304 to sign up.

CURRENT Grade 11 Students who signed up for dual credit Psychology or Geography next year and missed the first meeting –  must attend a meeting tomorrow- Friday May 12th in the Career Centre during focus.

JUNIOR BOYS RUGBY – please release the Jr. boys Rugby members from block 4 today for the City-Finals at SMU. Kick off 3:00pm.

TENNIS TEAM – Please congratulate members of the tennis team as they successfully defending their island championship defeating Claremont 8-3 in the final.

CHEM TRU – If you are interested in the Chem TRU Competition for Grade 11 or 12, please let your Chem Teacher know.  The dates are Chem 12– thisTuesday May 16th during Focus & Block 7 in room 228.   Chem 11- Wednesday May 17th  Block 3 in room 120 (computer lab-Library)

GRAD WEAR PICK-UP-  would the following students please come to Nutty’s Locker today at lunch to pick-up your Grad Wear. Need ID – Ronan Sankey,  Nick Stewart,  Gregory Dadd,  Norah Reksten,  Hannah Kitson,  Brandon Turner & Sophie deGoede.

Any students wanting to be a group leader in Community Leadership next year,  come sign up for an orientation in room 304 any time before Friday.

  COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP – reminder  that it is Homelessness Awareness week! There will be Sock-drive throughout the week.  The donation box is in the hall outside the Library.

 ENGLISH 12 MOCK EXAM –The annual, school-wide English 12 mock exam is scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon, May 17.  All grade 12 classes that afternoon are cancelled as all grade 12 students (except those at Islands?) will be writing a mock English 12 provincial.

 Oak Bay High 4TH. ANNUAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL –    Oak Bay High Film & Television is happy to announce our 4th short film festival on Friday June 9, 2017.  You have time to work on your entries. They are open to all Oak Bay students.  Entries must be no longer than 7 minutes and can be any category/genre.  Entries must submitted by June 2.  See Mr. Laird for details.

 CAREER CENTRE- Fairmont Empress Career Fair – this Wednesday May 10th from 9am to 12pm  They are looking for grade 11 and 12 students for a number of positions available that are entry level. There is a lot of part time work this spring that could lead to full time work for the summer.  Please join us in our beautiful Crystal Ballroom and arrive at the porte-cochere entrance off Belleville Street. Please bring your resume, identification, and make sure to dress to Empress. Are you not able to attend in person?
