SAILING TEAM – Those students interested in the Sailing Team-first meeting is this Monday March 6th.  in room 312 at lunch.  No experience required.

SCHOOL MUSICAL – “Legally Blonde” tickets are on sale at the Accounts office –  3 Show Dates left: Mar.  2, 3 & 4 7:30 pm. 

NEXT WEEK – Oak Bay High School- Me to We Club is hosting a “Week of We” – March 6-10 – with a new cause each day. Monday– Water Awareness, Tuesday– Bake Sale at lunch. Wednesday– Celebrating Influential Women. Thursday – We Walk for Water (come on over to the track at lunch to see a great race) Friday– Zinc Day. Did you know that just one AA battery has enough Zinc to save the lives of 6 children? Please bring in your old batteries to the collection boxes outside of the Library and in the Cafeteria all week.

 GRAD 2017 – All the information you and your grads need to know about Oak Bay High Grad 2017 is available on the school website.  To access this information from the website, select “Student Info” – “Oak Bay High School Grad 2017” and then click on the appropriate grad hat.  This year we will not be emailing information to parents and students individually.  The Grad 2017 website will be updated as more information is available.

CAREER CENTRE -Fleet Maintenance Facility CAPE BRETON (FMFCB) is once again offering their Secondary School Apprenticeship Program this summer from July 4th to September 1st.   The Secondary School Apprentice intake for this summer will include the following Trades;     – Various Metal Trades   (e.g., Metal Fabrication, Sheet Metal & Welding)- Various Hull Trades(e.g., Shipwright/Joiner, Painter, Lagger, Electroplater & Rigger)     – Pipefitter- Electrician (Marine & Weapons)         – Machinist        – Millwright     Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be admitted to the Fleet Maintenance Facility – CAPE BRETON – Secondary School Apprenticeship Program.       Be between 15 – 19 years of age and currently enrolled in grade 10, 11 or 12.        Have their parent’s/guardian’s written permission. Demonstrate an interest, aptitude and a level of maturity suitable for a trade with the Department of National Defence.Successful candidates must secure a “Reliability Status” security clearance. Come to the Career Centre and see Mrs. Giesbrecht for more information and an application form.  Applications are due into Mrs. Giesbrecht by April 3rd.
