Grade 12’s – The 1st Scholarship Prep Class is TODAY, after school in the Cafeteria – all grade 12’s welcome.

Grade 11 and 12’s – If you signed up for Work Experience, our first meeting will me TODAY at lunch in the Career Center – you need to be there to receive your paperwork to start collecting hours.

Any students registered in CLE 11 Online who did not attend the Orientation Meeting on Monday, there will a required meeting on TODAY at lunch in Room 304.  Reminder, you must attend in order to gain access to the course materials.

AMP math or outside-the-timetable Math.
Would you like to do math faster or on your own?  Some students can complete 1,2 or even three math classes in one year.  AMP math for some will allow to work through the summer to give you more time.  You can join or stop at any time.  AMP is for independent learners.   Please come to an info meeting in room 309 Sept 19th at lunch.

Are you interested in playing field hockey on a fun, low-pressure team? Come play for Oak Bay’s girl’s development team. No experience or equipment necessary. Come try it out and meet the team!
First practices are Tuesday and Friday after school this week, with official dates and times to come. Sign up with the form in the office! See you there!

Oak Bay students are invited to the VICE Fair, a USA Colleges & Universities Fair at St. Michaels University on October 3rd from 3:30pm – 5 at 3400 Richmond Rd. (senior school) (single gym)

UBC will not be attending the CUE or coming to Oak Bay for an information session again this year.  All of their information sessions this year will be online.  Please see the link to register for a session here.  https://account.you.ubc.ca/s/events  Don’t delay as last year some of these online session filled up quickly.

Volunteering Opportunities

Fall Fairfield, presented by the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association (FGCA), is an annual music, arts, crafts and food festival set in the heart of Fairfield is looking for volunteers. The festival is a free, all-ages, community event celebrating local businesses and non-profits, artists, performers, and people across Victoria in recognition of our dynamic culture and the harvest season. Volunteer roles vary and every student is bound to find something that’s suitable for them! Some roles include craft station leaders, roller skating attendants, pie contest manager, an emcee, green team leaders, and more! Click Fall Fairfield to get involved.

The Canadian Cancer Society is offering a virtual volunteer fair the evening of Monday, September 18th at 4 pm. They will cover a variety of volunteer opportunities for students from event planning to advocacy. Go to www.cancer.ca/volunteerfair  for more information.

Operation Christmas Child – Greater Victoria

Come and learn how to get involved. The amazing journey of a gift-filled shoebox begins with YOU! If you are able, please bring bottles & cans to recycle for cash in our Bottle Drive!
