Here are the details, below, for our JPod Junior Ultimate Fall Skills and Scrimmage Sessions! They will be at Reynolds Park on Sunday afternoons.
JPod Junior Ultimate Fall Skills and Scrimmage Sessions!
JPod Junior Ultimate is a new club ultimate team in Victoria, BC, led by former Canadian Junior National Coach and certified leadership coach, Geoff Urton.
This autumn, Geoff is leading skill development and scrimmage sessions to develop players’ abilities over the off-season in preparation for their high school and summer club seasons. These sessions are for players in grades 8-12 of any ability, wanting to learn new skills and improve their play in this sport so they can begin their school team seasons with confidence and enthusiasm. Each session will focus on a specific skill (e.g. handling, cutting, hucking) and will include a scrimmage.
Sessions will be held on Sundays from 3:15-4:45pm at Reynolds Park (3928 Lasalle St). Note that this is not Reynolds Highschool, but is the city park around the corner.
Sessions will run from September 11th-November 27th, with the possible exception of Thanksgiving Weekend (Oct 9th). If we experience cancellations due to weather, we will attempt to schedule additional sessions into December, also weather dependent. It is not required for players to be at every session, and players will be able to join the series after the first session without any issues.
Players should bring cleats, water, light and dark coloured shirts, and a disc if they have one.
The registration fee is $100.  We are committed to affordability not being a barrier to playing ultimate frisbee, so any family can request a subsidy up to the full fee by emailing Geoff at geoff@yourpurpose.net.
Please complete the form here to register.   All fees can be paid by e-transfer to the same email address, and please feel free to contact Geoff with any questions.   Let’s play some ultimate!
