Have you ever thought of becoming a pilot or working in the aviation industry?  Greater Victoria School District & Mt. Canadian Students at Sea: Thursday, Nov 9th, 2023
Day sail from Esquimalt to Vancouver on a Navy vessel.
Learn new things, speak with sailors, and discover what life is really like in the Navy.
You must be 16 years of age.
We will travel as a group and return the same day from Vancouver.
The exact timeline is subject to variable circumstances on the day.
Your costs will be transit fare ($4.55) to the ferry terminal and walk-on ferry fare($18.50). Pick-up at the Swartz Bay terminal is the student’s responsibility.
The deadline to apply is October 6th.

HighTechU at UVic has programs for high school students to get hands-on experience in technology, design and business, by designing and building their own product.
Their fall programs will run on Tuesdays after-school from Oct 17 – Dec 5. They are accepting applications until Oct 7.   Their two programs are the Techccelerator, which teaches software development, and the EngAcademy, which teaches Arduinos and C-based programming. Volunteer with Victor School Peer Program – they are looking for grades 10=12 students interested in creating meaningful relationships with neurodivergent peers and the adults that support them.  This may involve, playing sports or games, reading, creating art and crafts and early literacy and numeracy tasks with students. Fall Fairfield, presented by the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association (FGCA), is an annual music, arts, crafts and food festival set in the heart of Fairfield is looking for volunteers. The festival is a free, all-ages, community event celebrating local businesses and non-profits, artists, performers, and people across Victoria in recognition of our dynamic culture and the harvest season. Volunteer roles vary and every student is bound to find something that’s suitable for them! Some roles include craft station leaders, roller skating attendants, pie contest manager, an emcee, green team leaders, and more! Click Fall Fairfield to get involved.
