The Halloween Dance is TONIGHT! Last chance to buy your ticket.  Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets are $15.

TOMORROW is Pajama Day!!

The 2nd annual Volunteer Fair is happening TODAY from 9:30-12:30 in the Student Plaza.  Teachers bring your students down to check out the great opportunities.  Reminder all grade 10-12 students require 30 hours of volunteer/work experience.

The Barbs Rugby Team wants to see if there is interest for a tour next spring break (Spring 2021). We have a meeting for parents and players on Wednesday, October 30th at 5:30 in room 231 (Mr. Atkinson’s room).​

There is a Kids for a Cause meeting TOMORROW at LUNCH in room 304.  New members are always welcome.

The October Creative Writing Contest is closing TODAY.  All entries must be submitted to the Library by 3:30pm.

This week is Waste Reduction Week at Oak Bay. Thursday will be Zero Waste Day. Pack it in, pack it out!
Half a trillion disposable cups are manufactured annually around the world; that’s over 70 disposable cups for every person on the planet.
At Oak Bay last Friday 86 single use cups were thrown away. Please bring a reusable cup!

Grade 12s:
Capstone proposals are due TOMORROW.  Please see your Capstone Advisor ASAP.

Grade 9’s:  Please return your Take Your Kids To Work Day permission forms to your Socials teacher this week.

A Queens – Bader International Study Program representative will be in the Career Centre on Thursday Oct 24th at lunch.

Fire Camp for teens (15-18 yrs.) from March 16 – 21, 2020.  This is a great opportunity for our students who are considering firefighting as a career.   Information and applications can be found at either www.metchosinfire.ca or www.sooke.ca .   ALL APPLICATION’S ARE DUE INTO MRS. GIESBRECHT BY 4:00 PM DECEMBER 18, 2019.  The physical exam does not need to be completed until the student is shortlisted but if you can get one easily and with no charge it would be best to get it done early.  The $200 fee does not have to be paid until the student has been offered a seat in the program.  There are 20 seats available and not all applications will receive interviews.
