Do we need 4 Focus block at Oak Bay
History: Focus Block is 5 years old.  Goal to give students TIME IN SCHOOL to do what they need to do.  (Could be academic or non-academic).  Prior to that, students had 1 hour a week first thing Friday morning.
SIGN IN DATA OCTOBER:  Gr 9: 54%, Gr 10: 41%, GR 11: 49%, GR 12: 29%
Question:  Do students value 4 focus blocks per week?  What letter grade would you attach to our focus Block attendance results?
Possible Suggestion:  Reduce the number of focus blocks to align with student values
Timetable Impact:  As there would not be as many focus blocks, classes would get about 10 minutes longer on days without focus blocks.  IE 70min classes would increase  to 80 min “ish”.
Action Required:  If you VALUE 4 focus blocks, ATTEND and SIGN IN.
This message is from a teachers that want to see OB have as many focus blocks as students need.
