Dec. 4th – MacEwan University will be in the Career Centre at lunch.

Our Sr. Boys Volleyball team is holding a Food Bank Drive as part of the BC Championships.  They will be collecting items to be donated to our local food bank on Monday Nov 26.  You can help this drive by bringing your donations to the school, and dropping them in the box in the office, or dropping off in room 236.  The Mustard Seed has indicated that cereals and cooking oils are some of their greatest needs at this time.

Cultural Connection Club will be hosting a Games Night on Wednesday, November 28th at 5:00pm in the Cafeteria.  Come for Pizza, games and a chance to make new friends!  Everyone Welcome.  Sign up outside room 202.

 Shoe Box is here!  This year we are working with The Shoebox Project, they aim to help local single mothers.  The donation criteria is different this year.  We are mainly looking for small warm clothing like gloves or socks, hygiene items like floss or soaps. How to Apply to Post-Secondary
TONIGHT @ 7 pm in the Theatre, Mr. Alexander is holding an information night on How to Apply to Post-Secondary.  ALL parents and student are encouraged to be there (especially if grade 12’s have not been coming to scholarship class!). It’s designed to be an info night for parents and grade 12’s around the process of deciding what post-secondary(s) to apply for. Please come and bring your questions!

High Tech U for Vancouver Island Youth – UX Day 2018 on December 1st from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Engineering Computer Science Building at UVic.  Applications open on Dec 1st for the seven week program.   To find out more and register to attend please go to their website.   https://www.hightechu.ca/

Kids for a Cause Club is collecting NEW and warm socks to donate to those in need.  Our goal is to collect a total of 1400 pairs of socks!  Please feel free to bring as many socks as you’d like until December 3rd.  There will be boxes around the school to collect your donations.

Oak Bay High is collecting any used batteries from Nov 16th to Dec 2nd.  Please drop off any battery donations in the boxes around the school.  One AA battery has enough zinc to save the lives of 6 children.

Encounters with Canada is offering $100 off for the Sports & Fitness week from Jan. 27 – Feb. 2, 2019.  During the session you will meet other students who share the same passion for sports and fitness that you do.  You will spend 6 days in Ottawa focusing on promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. Cst Perry has set up a questions/concerns box at the table in the counsellor center. Please feel free to forward any questions/concerns to Cst Perry in this manner or email her at sperry@oakbaypolice.org . Starting in November Cst Perry will be posting her office time at OB High through the morning announcements. She encourages everyone to come by to see her about any questions they may have or just even to chat.

Threshold Housing is hosting a winter carnival to Shine a Light on Youth.
When: December 1, 2018 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
