All students who signed up for the Canadian Senior Math contest are reminded to please be in the library no later than 12:45 today, with pencil, eraser and calculator.

This is a reminder to ALL Spanish and Dance students who are interested in travelling to SPAIN in 2021 that we have a quick meeting at the beginning of lunch today in the Dance Studio.

The November Writing Contest ends TOMORROW, November 21st.  Make sure that submissions are in to the Library by 3:30pm.

Calling all Muggles! The Youth Centre is hosting a Harry Potter Trivia Night on Friday, November 29th from 4pm – 7pm!

The Barbs rugby tryouts will be held on Tuesday November 26th and December 3rd for the Junior team and November 28th and December 5th for the Senior team. All levels are welcome to come tryout and it will be non-contact. Please bring soccer/rugby cleats if you have them.

Camosun College Sport & Exercise Education Programs is hosting an information evening on Thursday Nov. 21st from 6-7pm at PISE building, room 329A on the Interurban Campus.  See the attached link for more details.

Discover if a gap year is right for you.  Canadian Gap Year Association is hosting an information session on Saturday November 23, 2019 from 1 pm to 3 pm at EF Language School 1952 Blanshard St.

To kick off the holiday season, Kids For A Cause is having a sock drive to collect NEW and warm socks for those in need!  Please bring a pair or two.

Attention, young innovators! The Science Fair Foundation BC is looking to help you showcase your innovative solutions to industry, academia and investors at the 2020 Youth Innovation Showcase! Fire Camp for teens (15-18 yrs.) from March 16 – 21, 2020.  This is a great opportunity for our students who are considering firefighting as a career.   Information and applications can be found at either or .   ALL APPLICATION’S ARE DUE INTO MRS. GIESBRECHT BY 4:00 PM DECEMBER 18, 2019.  The physical exam does not need to be completed until the student is shortlisted but if you can get one easily and with no charge it would be best to get it done early.  The $200 fee does not have to be paid until the student has been offered a seat in the program.  There are 20 seats available and not all applications will receive interviews.

BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH – The Canadian Francophone Games will be held in Victoria this summer, July 14 -18, and they are looking for volunteers.  Go to their website: and sign up to become a volunteer.  They are also looking to create a Youth Ambassador Program of 40 – 60 French immersion  and francophone schools in the province of BC.  These ambassadors will be involved in the planning and hosting of events.
