Congratulations to Oak Bay’s Field Hockey team who placed 2nd at the Provincial Championships this past weekend.  The girls lost a hard-fought final, losing the match on the 7th penalty shooter in overtime.  Congratulations on a wonderful season!

Grads, those interested in attending the “Winter Formal” need to buy tickets this week.  We are currently short of our minimum number to run the event.

Are you interested in applying to art school?
Students are invited to join members of the UVic Department of Visual Arts at the Legacy Gallery for a portfolio review session. UVic instructors and current students will be on hand to answer any questions students may have about how to prepare an effective portfolio for application to our program.
Date: Saturday, December 3rd
Time: 1-4 PM

Portfolio Requirements:
– Applications to the UVic Visual Arts program are entirely digital, so please bring images of your work on a tablet or laptop. Do not bring images exclusively on your phone as the screen is too small to provide feedback.
– Small items (under 20 x 24 ‘’) may be brought in person if they are easy to transport.
– Maximum of 15 images
During your visit, we invite you to spend some time with the Piers exhibition and see what some of the faculty, recent graduate students, and others associated with the Department are doing. Piers is a group exhibition showing contemporary artwork ranging across media by 18 artists spanning generations, nationalities, and backgrounds, exploring how artists’ practices change through teaching, learning, and mentorship. If you know any students who you think might be interested in this opportunity, please feel free to share this information forward. Guelph University Upcoming Virtual Information Sessions
Guelph is hosting two virtual information sessions for prospective students this fall students may be interested in attending. Details are as follows:
What: Grade 12 Information Sessions
Where: students are encouraged to register in advance here
When: Thursday December 1 – from 5-8pm EDT (2-5pm PST)
Format: We are offering six 30-minute information sessions. The event is free to attend.
Students who pre-register will receive a reminder email with link to join the event and will have the option to select which session they’d like to attend on the day (i.e., they’re not registering for a specific session in advance).

In November, EducationUSA has a real TREAT for you! We have our second virtual Showcase event highlighting the South region. This event includes booths with 20 U.S. universities and colleges from the southern United States and webinars with TRICKS to improve your application! The Volunteer Coordinator for Baptist Housing is looking for volunteers who would like to volunteer regularly though the year.  Baptist Housing operates Shannon Oaks an independent living seniors home (just opposite Save on Foods), and Marion Village an Assisted Living/Independent Living community opposite Oak Bay Rec Center.   Students would help with activities, or with technology assistance.  They are also looking for performance level musicians.  Would you like to Volunteer with Baptist Housing?
