MATHLETES- All students in grades 9, 10 and 11 who are writing one of the Math Contests on Thursday Feb.20, please see the following teachers to make out your response form ahead of time.  That way, you will not be using your contest time to do so…the contest takes place this Thursday Feb. 20                                        

   Math 9 (Pascal Contest)- Mr. Bell – room E26   (some will write in this room, some in  roomE6, Block 2              Math 10 (Cayley Contest) -Mr. Wilson – room E6 (All will write in that room in Bl.2)                                                          Math. 11 (Fermat)) – Mr. Carter – Room E4 ( All will write in that room in Block 3)

MUSICAL –  OPENING NIGHT –  “In the  Heights” – Starts Friday , curtain rises  7:30pm.  Tickets on sale in East and West Offices.   -Students/Seniors$10.00, – Adults $12.00.  Performances Feb. 21,22,26,27,28, & March 1st.  Matinee  Sunday  Feb. 23 @2:00pm

ENVIRO CLUB – Everyone is invited to Enviro Club’s first documentary movie night on Tuesday, February 25th at 7 pm in the West Auditorium.  We will be showing the documentary “Lost Rivers” , followed by “Ground Swell”.  The CRD will also be on hand to talk about the Bowker Creek Restoration project and to provide an update regarding this exciting project.  Admission is by donation towards Bowker Creek stewardship efforts; we hope to see you there!

ATTENTION – Grade 11 girls – The Minerva Foundation for BC Women is hosting their Thirteenth Annual Learning to Lead BC program May 23 – 25 at St. John’s College on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.  Oak Bay is able to submit one application or two if one applicant is aboriginal.  Please come and see Mrs. Giesbrecht as soon as possible if you are interested in applying.  The deadline is approaching fast so don’t wait.  You will need to have your applications into Mrs. Giesbrecht by Thursday  Feb 20st at lunch or end of day.

CAREER FAIR- There will be two buses going to the GVSD 61 Career Fair at SJ Willis this Wednesday Feb 19th .  One will leave at 8:30 and come back at 10:45 and the other will leave at 12:15 and be back at school by 2:00.  If you are in grade 11 or 12 and can make either of these times work with your schedule please see Mrs. Giesbrecht for the authorization forms.

**Would the following students who have signed up to volunteer  at the Career Fair on Wednesday please see Mrs. Giesbrecht at the beginning of lunch today in her office.  Jane Lindross, Adrienne Fraser, Bree Keefe, Katy Bon, Alice Kerley and Emily Lam.

YOUTH AGAINST CANCER – There will be a very important Youth Against Cancer meeting Wednesday at lunch in Room E302. Everyone  please attend.

WINTER OLYMPICS – Come join us for “Live Streaming” of the Winter Olympic Games, Sochi Russia, in the Library until they end, this week.

BEST BUDDIES – There will NOT be a Best Buddies meeting today. Feel free to meet up with your Buddy at the start of lunch, as per usual.

TEACHERS- Please return YELLOW fruit/veggie basket trays back to room East 202 (Home Ec.) and to the West Office.
