LEADERSHIP – Students who missed this morning’s class that are interested in taking Leadership, please see Mr. Schippers in room E27 today or Friday.

LIBRARY – All overdue textbooks from last year need to be returned asap to the Library.

FEE ENVELOPES –  Please send all fee envelopes to the East and West offices daily. If you have any extra envelopes in your tag please send them to the East office.

BC TRANSIT BUS PASS –  The photo shoot for BC Transit Bus Passes is TODAY- Thursday Sept. 25 at lunch 12-1:00 on the Theatre stage.  Application forms are in east and west offices. Bring your cheque, valid ID and your application form to the photo shoot.

PSAT GRADE 11 STUDENTS – interested in writing the Practice SAT on Oct 15th please come and sign up in the Career Centre with Mrs. Giesbrecht.  This is on a first come first basis, the cost is $20.00,  and there are limited exams so please don’t wait. Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht if you have any questions.

CAREER CENTRE –  SMUS is hosting Monash University on Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00 pm in their Copeland Lecture Theatre and would like to invite interested Oak Bay students and their parents to attend.

CAREER CENTRE-  Unfortunately The Oak Bay Canadian University Event (CUE) scheduled for Sept 30th has been cancelled but our students will have an opportunity to attend one of two other CUE’s in the area.

1 – St. Michael’s University School will host a CUE on Monday September 29th from 5:30 to 6:30pm

2 – Glenlyon Norfolk School will host on Tuesday September 30th from 6:30pm – 8:00pm

* Glenlyon Norfolk School has also invited anyone thinking of attending a university in the UK to an event that they are having on Friday Sept. 26th in their Gudewill Gym.  They will have over 21 universities from the UK in the Gudewill Gym from 2:30 – 3:20; they will then do presentations in the Hall (UCAS etc.)  from 3:25 – 4pm.  801 Bank Street.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht if you have any questions.

STRINGS –  Strings 9 through 12 will meet today – Thursday for a quick meeting at 3:15 in the Band Shack.  No  instruments needed.  Please let Mr. Weaver or Miss Haas know if you can make the meeting.

CROSS COUNTRY TEAM – There will be another practice tomorrow, Friday after school at the track oval.

SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM – Anyone interested in joining the team,  there is a meeting today Thurs. and tomorrow Fri. after school. Very important,  as our 1st.tournament is tomorrow.

BOYS SOCCER  – Junior and Senior – Tryouts after school today at the track-oval

COPS FOR CANCER KIDS FAIR – is this Sunday Sept. 28 at Willows Beach from  10-3:00pm.  We hope to see you all there! Entry by donation.

 

Junior Concert Choir (grade 9/10 outside the timetable) – first rehearsal Thurs. lunch in the choir room.

 

Senior Concert Choir (grade 11/12 outside the timetable) – first rehearsal Fri morning at 7:30 am in the choir room. Men and women please!!

 

Jazz-a-latte – first rehearsal Fri after school at 2:30.

 

JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – there are tryouts for the junior girls volleyball  team today  and Friday at 5-6:30, all tryouts are in the West Gym.

 

OPERA FANS –  First Opera of the season – “Das Rheingold” by Wagner.  Performance is Tuesday Oct. 14th 7:00 pm at the Royal Theatre. Students $10.00 . Anyone interested see Manjit for tickets.  West 108.

 

Would all students who took B&W photography with Mr Worsley last year please pick up any assignments, photos and portfolios from him ASAP.
