Monday Nov. 14. 2016                                                                            CAFETERIA- Taco’s and salads, Nut Hut – is open,

ADVISORY TEACHERS – in your mail drawers in the office you will find your advisory’s school photo orders.  Also the new  retake proofs and student ID cards are in for you to hand out in Advisory today. Please hand in your Poppy envelopes and return your clean yellow fruit/veggie trays to room 143.

SWIM TEAM –  please hand in your Kamloops forms and cheque to Mr. Schippers, room 312 today.

Choir students going to Comox!   – Lunch rehearsal today, for grade 11 & 12 students going to Comox       Lunch rehearsal on Tuesday for grade 9 & 10 students going to Comox  FOCUS block on Wednesday for ALL students going to Comox.

 28 HOUR FAMINE – there will be a short meeting today at lunch in room 304 for all those interested.

 *DUE today -CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXESReminder to all advisories doing the Christmas Shoeboxes that they are due today. The Advisory that fills the most boxes wins a Pizza lunch.  Anyone who needs volunteer hours, each shoebox is equivalent to two volunteer hours .  Bring all packed Shoeboxes to room 304.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP – is hosting an indoor soccer tournament this Wed. & Thurs. November 16-17 at lunch in the Big Gym. International and Canadian students welcome.  The winning team receives a Pizza Lunch!  Sign-up sheet is in the office.  We are looking for teams of 8. Its Free!

ROYALS HOCKEY GAME – OB Leadership will be taking a group of 25 – 30 students to the Royals Hockey game next Tuesday Nov. 22. The sign-up sheet is in the office and the International Room 202. Canadians and International students welcome.

WHERE’S NUTTY – this week’s clue from Student Council is “ You will find “Nutty” under a hard place to write. If you look carefully, find him you might.  If someone pushes you might roll-away,  until you find him this is where Nutty will stay!”

CAREER CENTRE – University visits this week.   Dalhousie University will be in the Career Centre at lunch today.        *St.Mary’s University will be in the Career Centre at lunch tomorrow, November 16th.        *UBC will be on the stage at lunch on Wed.  November 16th                                                                                                                                                          *University of Calgary will be in the Career Centre at lunch on Thursday November 17th

Senior Boys Basketball try-outs  today – Monday at  6:30 in the  Small Gym.

Girls B Basketball OPEN practice – tomorrow – Tuesday after school in the small gym.

BARBABIAN RUGBY TRY-OUTS In the Oval – Juniors-grade 9-10- tomorrow Tues. Nov. 15 and Tues. Nov.22, 3:30-4:30. Seniors-grade 11 -12- Thurs. Nov. 17 and Thurs. Nov. 24, 3:30 – 4:30.  Bring a mouth-guard,  there will be tackling.  Any questions?? See Mr. Atkinson in room 231.

STUDENTS-OBHS is looking for MATH MENTORS / tutors for blocks 1-6.  This is your chance to make a difference in the school.  We need your help.  You can get credit, or volunteer hours, or reference letters or a great feeling by making a difference.  Please see tspray 309 or email tdspray@sd61learn.ca at your earliest convenience.

Oak Bay Interact and Rotary club – is hosting a Nearly New and Artisan sale at Monterey Recreation Centre on November 19th from 10am-3pm. If you have “nearly new” items to donate there is in a box in Mr. Bradshaw’s room 209. All proceeds are going to Oak Bay Rotary’s youth programs in the community.
