Fruit and Veggie Program – we have grape tomatoes for advisory today. Send a runner from your advisory to foods room 143 to collect your grape tomatoes for your advisory today.

CHOIR FESTIVAL – Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday this week. Theatre and choir room will be in use.

GRAD WEAR – would the following students please come and pick-up your grad wear today at lunch in Nutty’s locker. COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP – will be running a “Clothing Drive” next week Tuesday April 18th – April 21st.  Please bring in any clean used or new clothing to the drop off boxes around the school.  Anything helps.

OPERA CLUB – . Anyone wishing to see, “Les Feluettes”  (the lily)  Opera. It is next Tuesday , April 18th, at the Royal Theatre 7pm. Tickets for students are $15. See Manjit after school in room 213. Thank you

CAREER CENTRE – Grade 11 and 12 students applying for the SD61/Pacific Design Academy Summer Graphic Design Program have until April 14th to hand in applications to Mrs. Giesbrecht.

*Volunteer Opportunity: Would you like to volunteer for Andrew Weaver’s Campaign?  There are several areas to get involved.  Canvassing – Data entry – Sign Making/Sign Waving – Scrutineers/Vote Counters – Mail Stuffing – Please contact their office at 778-265-8171 or email reelectandrewweaver@gmail.com if you are interested.

* There will be a free bus taking any grade 10 – 12 student interested in going the International Universities Fair in Vancouver on Sunday April 30thSchool groups travelling out of Victoria must walk on the 9am ferry to Tsawwassen. The free NACAC bus will leave Tsawwassen at 10:40 and arrive at the event in downtown Vancouver at approximately 11:30am. The same bus will leave Vancouver at 3:30pm to ensure the group can catch the 5pm ferry back to Victoria. Students will be expected to get themselves to and from the Swartz Bay Ferry.  There will not be bus leaving from Oak Bay to take students there.  If you are interested in taking the bus you must let Mrs. Giesbrecht know by end of today- Monday.  To see the full list of universities, click here or click here for the printable version.   Please click the link for more information about the fair.  Vancouver International Universities Fair 2017

* Job Opportunity “RE: Energetic student required for light outside gardening duties at $11 per hour. The successful applicant will be working along side the home owner in the task of working on the landscaping of a new house in the Cadboro Bay area.  Outside work clothes, gardening gloves and a packed lunch are required. Work will be available on most non-rainy Saturdays and Sundays and possibly some other week day afternoons.  The position is available immediately. *Youth Internship Program (15-18 years) is an opportunity to work with children and build your leadership skills over the summer.  There is a $500.00 dollar honorarium for students who successfully complete the program.  Apply by May 8, 2017 at 4pm.  *uStart – Current grade 11’s applying for uStart next fall need to have their application into Mrs. Giesbrecht by next Monday April 17th.

*Mrs. Giesbrecht is looking for volunteers to help out at the SD61 Career Fair at SJ Willis on April 20th.  See Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.

*The Oak Bay Tea Party Association is looking for volunteers on June 3rd and 4th.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.  These hours are acceptable for the Grad Transition 30 hour requirement.
