For girls interested in Basketball at Oak Bay and missed the meeting yesterday, please check in with Mr. Pippus in the Athletics Department to get the hand out sheet. This is for all Oak Bay girls and includes Seniors, Junior A’s and Junior B’s. Please come and sign up and get information on off-Season activities and next season opportunities.

Do you love board games and food? TODAY afterschool until 5:00pm there will be a fun board game night with lots of pizza and treats available, hosted by Connect 2 Care. Look around the school for posters with a QR code to sign up by yourself or with a friend.

Camosun College and the South Island Partnership will be hosting a Women In Trades and Technology Exploration Day on April 21st. Explore trades opportunities in electrical, fine furniture, sheet metal and automotive as well as tech opportunities in computer science, Camosun Innovates, mechanical engineering and electronics. FLEET MAINTENANCE FACILITY(CB) FSWEP Hire 2022
Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton will be accepting applications for the following trades as part of the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) 2022. (10-12 Students will be hired) You must be between 16-19years of age and currently enrolled in grade 11 or 12. Grade 12’s – Mr. Alexander will have a drop in time on Thursday in Focus in the cafeteria – stop by with any questions for applications, awards, scholarships, what’s next in the decision making process. Mr. Alexander will hold these drop in times every Tuesday and Thursday until Spring Break. If your Focus time is full, drop by or email any time (career center).
Learning to Lead™ is, a four-week leadership program with 2-hour zoom sessions every week, open to Grade 11 girls, transgender, and non-binary youth. Participants gain confidence through a series of interactive workshops and activities. They leave the program with greater self-awareness, and the inspiration to take on new challenges and opportunities. This interactive program invites young women to develop a leadership mindset in a supportive and fun environment. You will also gain insight from guest speakers and mentors – accomplished leaders who share their candid perspectives on their personal experiences. Film Camp in A Box is currently seeking senior students to fill paid roles in their spring break and summer programs. They are a youth based digital media literacy workshop that engages young people between the ages of 8 – 14 in stop motion animation and filmmaking opportunities throughout Canada. They have partnerships with Oak Bay, Saanich, Panorama and Westshore communities.
