Ultimate Frisbee Practice’s AFTER Spring Break – Every Wednesday morning at 7:30am, & Friday afternoons at 3:30pm on the Turf. Starting April 4th, 2018.
All OBH students are welcome and encouraged to come and play VUPS sponsored ultimate frisbee every Sunday on the GNS turf from Noon-2 pm. Students from other schools have been gathering there for the last month and this will be ongoing and there is no cost, but a waiver must be signed which we will bring to practice.
HMCS MALAHAT JOB FAIR- SAT, MARCH 17TH
This Saturday, March 17th, HMCS Malahat, Victoria’s Naval Reserve unit is holding its annual Job Fair from 10am-2pm at 20 Huron St. Victoria BC. This event showcases what various occupations are available in the Naval Reserves. This is a great opportunity for high school students aged 16 and older or Grade 11 and higher to be able to secure excellent part-time and summer employment. Students that join have the opportunity to make over $5000 over the summer, as well as, receive tuition reimbursement for post-secondary education.
COME TO THE SD61 CAREER FAIR AND SIGN UP TO WIN AN IPAD.
SD61 is having their annual Career Fair on April 19th from 9:00am to 2:30pm at Archie Browning Curling Arena, 1151 Esquimalt Rd. Students will take a bus leaving from Oak Bay at 11:15 and returning to the school by 12:45. There will be approximately 80 exhibitors attending and more committing to the event each day. On Tuesday, April 10th, SD61 is partnering with The Victoria Police Department to allow 16 of our students to explore and experience Policing through hands-on, scenario-based activities, demonstrations, and discussions with Victoria Police Department members:

Camosun College has a Trades Exploration program (TEAC105) which embraces learning about Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science Technology. The program is very useful to help students determine which discipline they may want to consider after high school. Applications are now open for September 2018. Marine TASK Spring & Summer Program
South Island Partnership (SIP) would like to offer a new and exciting program to our secondary students: Marine TASK. This program centers on several trades through a marine lens. Four safety certifications will also be achieved through the program. Below, you will see that this has two parts:
an online course (TACC 109 – Trades Access Common Core) from April to June face to face, hands on instruction at Camosun Interurban in July and August.
Applications are due by March 16, 2018. Grade 11 or 12 students who are interested in completing the TACC 109 course by distance, and are willing to invest their summer months into this unique and valuable opportunity, please pick up an application in the Career Centre. YOUTH GET IT INTERNS AT COAST CAPITAL SAVINGS
Opportunities for students entering Grade 11 and 12 in September 2018 to be paid members of our Youth Get It Interns. They work as community ambassadors and as Member Service Representatives helping our members in our branches. Being a Youth Get It Intern is a job that requires professionalism and a friendly and helpful attitude. Students will gain skills like leadership, community relations and financial literacy that prepare them for their future endeavours.
Represent Coast Capital Savings at community events
