Work BC’s “Find Your Fit” is a two day event that will take place at Oak Bay in the small gym on March 4th and 5th. It’s an interactive event that helps grade 9 and 10 students discover and explore a range of high-opportunity occupations in BC. From nursing to software engineering to early childhood education, students get hands-on experience at up to 17 different career stations. Each session will be approximately 45 minutes. Grade 9’s will attend on March 4 and grade 10’s March 5th. Grade 11 and 12 students are welcome during focus block on March 5th and will need to register for a spot and can do so by going to the Career Centre website.
ISACA Victoria has organized a Springboard Conference day centered on the Cyber Security career pathway! The event will take place in-person at UVic on Thursday, March 14th. Applications can be picked up in the Career Centre and are due in to Ms. Giesbrecht on or before Friday, March 8th. SIP and Camosun are hosting a Health Exploration Event at Interurban Campus’ Centre for Health and Wellness. Students will have the chance to see the learning spaces, and hear from instructors about Health Care dual credit offerings available in the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025. Practical Nursing is the diploma nursing program and at the end of the 20-month program, students are prepared to become Licensed Practical Nurses.

Pedalheads is hiring instructors and looking for volunteers for Spring Break. To qualify as a Bike Instructor, students need to be at a minimum 16 years old by their first day of work. We also have opportunities for younger students to volunteer during these weeks! Students must be 13 years old by their first day of work in order to be a volunteer.
