Victoria Dragon Boat Festival is looking for volunteers this summer. The event is from August 9-11 and the volunteering starts on August 7. Every year they welcome approximately 200 volunteers who do a variety of assignments including: site set up, security, traffic control, dock handling, food distribution, information and environment crew. CFAX Santas Anonymous (Kidz helping Kids) needs 2 dynamic youth leaders to coordinate a youth based ambassador program. Help raise funds to support kidz in need throughout Greater Victoria and earn a $2500.00 bursary! Apply at www.CFAXSANTAS.com

Encounters With Canada is an opportunity for students to spend a week in Ottawa with other students from across Canada for a fee of $750. There are 15 themed weeks for students to choose from which enable them to explore and experience potential careers and areas of personal interest. Workplace Alternative Trades Training
WATT is a Free Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Training Program which includes 3 weeks of hands-on-electrical training, paid work experience, Apprenticeship sponsorship, ongoing mentorship and support, breakfast and lunch provided on classroom days and basic toolkit and Steel-Toe-Boots. Students will earn several certificates, including Occupational First Aid Level 1, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, WHMIS 2015, and Construction Safety Training Systems 09. Camosun College Interurban Campus offers an Explorations in Technology (TEAC 105) course Fridays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm September to February for students (gr. 10-12) interested in exploring Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Civil Engineering and Computer Science. Mount Douglas Golf Course is looking for part-time workers.
They are currently seeking mature responsible students interested in the field or willing to learn about the industry to join our outdoor grounds team this summer and possible future summers for grounds keeping. This is a great opportunity to spend the summer outdoors doing mostly light duty tasks like raking, gardening (weeding), whipping edges, driving a golf like cart called a gator around the course. Hours should be somewhere between 20-30 hours a week. If you are interested please go to the golf course check-in counter with a resume and we will set up an interview with the Superintendent Greg Turner and Assistant Superintendent Lynda Jensen.

The Maritime Museum of BC is currently seeking Visitor Service Volunteers to assist us with our Front Desk operations. This is a service-oriented position that gives volunteers the opportunity to interact with visitors from around the world and to share BC’s maritime history and culture. Our exhibit this summer explores the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, so it is also an excellent opportunity to engage with important ocean conservation issues. Duties include welcoming visitors into the Museum; processing admissions and memberships; making Gift Shop sales; and promoting and selling tickets for our special events, workshops, and tours.
