Ski and Snowboard Team – Meeting today at lunch in the BLACK BOX (room 139.)  Looking forward to hitting the slopes!

 

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL – is having a new start-up meeting today Nov. 25 at lunch in room 221.

 

ADVISORY – CHRISTMAS HAMPERS – We are looking to organize Christmas Hampers this year for families who are in need.  This is something that is typically done through advisories, and then is wrapped and delivered on the last day of school (Friday, December 16th).     We fill the Christmas Hampers with food, gifts specific to that family, and gift certificates.  Please let me know on Monday if your Advisory is interested in, and whether you would like to do this independently or share your hamper with another Advisory.

ADVISORY LIP SYNC SUBMISSIONS – Did you know that we only have 4 more Advisories left in 2016?

Please let your Advisory students know that we are looking for their lip sync song submissions and they should use the google form listed below to reserve their song/performance. Please tell The Judging Committee asap. WHERE’S NUTTY – KEEP LOOKING – same clue this week from Student Council is “ You will find “Nutty” under a hard place to write. If you look carefully, find him you might.  If someone pushes you might roll-away,  until you find him this is where Nutty will stay!”

 

SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – congrats on winning the Silver place finish, last weekend, entering them in the Provincials next week. Great job girls and good luck in the provincials!

 

CAREER CENTRE – Anime Convention Volunteers Needed!  Tsukino-Con is a non-profit organization that hosts an annual anime, games, and Japanese culture convention at the University of Victoria. *Volunteer Opportunity in the Hospitality & Service Industry

If you are looking for a Volunteer role that will give you training and skills in the Hospitality & Service Industry, consider a volunteer role with the BC Cancer Agency You must be 16 or older and willing to commit to one 3 hour shift per week for a minimum of 8 weeks.  Café is open Monday to Friday only with shifts at 7am-10am, 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm.

*Explorations in Technology TEAC 105   Camosun College offers a dual credit course introducing students to basic skills in Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.  The course will be offered at Interurban Campus, Technology Building Friday’s from 3-6pm from Feb 26, 2016 to May 27, 2017. *VICTORIA TEA FESTIVAL – will take place from January 30th to February 4th and is looking for student volunteers.  There are many different ways to help out leading to the event as well as the week of the event.  The poster still has to be designed, media work is still required, and a variety of other duties need to be completed.  If you are interested please see the poster outside the Career Centre or contact Mrs. Giesbrecht with any questions you have.
