DUKE OF EDINBURG PARTICIPANTS – there will be a meeting this Wednesday March 2nd. at lunch in room 304 (Taggart) Bring your questions and get the answers you need.

JELLY BEAN COUNT – Fundraiser for the SPCA. Starts Monday Feb. 29 – March 4th. in the Student Plaza at lunch. .50 cents a guess. (Community Leadership)

 

JUNIOR GIRLS SOCCER –  TRY OUTS will be Tueday March 1 and Thurs. March 3 at Carnarvon Park.

LOST – Camera – Cannon with a pink and purple ribbon on it. If found please hand in to the office.

CAREER CENTRE – Volunteer Opportunity – Margaret Jenkins is looking for 6-8 volunteers to do some child-minding on Monday, April 11th.  You need to be at the school by 6:15pm and would be finished by 8:45pm. The ages of the children are 3 -10yrs. You will be playing games, reading and colouring with them in the library while the parents listen to the speaker in the gym.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.

*Two grads will be in the Career Centre on Tuesday March 1st at lunch to talk about their Lattitude volunteer abroad experience.  If you are headed off to volunteer with Lattitude next year or would just like more information at this point please come and hear the presentation.

*WORK BC “FIND YOUR FIT” TOUR

Work BC Find Your Fit Tour is taking place at Esquimalt High School this Monday, February 29th. This tour is an interactive event where students can try the skills they’ll need for different careers in demand in our province.

*Coast Capital Savings is looking to hire their Youth Team again this year. This is an opportunity for students entering grade 10 or 11 next September to work part time, represent Coast Capital at community events focus on a “for youth, by youth” approach to teaching financial literacy.  Successful applicants will be expected to work full time during the summer along with Saturdays and some evenings during the school year.  If you are interested in this great experience please see www.coastcapitalsavings.com/youthteam or come to the Career Centre for an information sheet.

*Video Gaming Work Experience – Attention Grade 11 and 12 students who like video gaming.  There is an opportunity to gain work experience in the field at one of the many gaming companies in Victoria.  The week-long placements will start on April 4th and be available until June 3rdOnline registration is open now and will close on Feb 26th.   Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht or Mr. Laird for more information or go to http://www.vicvideogames.com to apply.
