FRIDAY FOCUS ON THE TRACK – Any Junior PE students (Grade 9/10) that want to make up their Track  runs,  can do so during Focus today.  Find Mr. Busch on the Track at beginning of Focus – for the next 3 Fridays- April 21, April 28 & May 5.

 Oak Bay High 4TH. ANNUAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL –   Oak Bay High Film & Television is happy to announce our 4th short film festival on June 9, 2017.  Entries are open to all Oak Bay students.  Entries must be no longer than 7 minutes and can be any category/genre.  Entries must submitted by June 2.  See Mr. Laird for details.

EARTH WEEK – COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP – will be hosting a “Clothing Drive” this week Tuesday April 18th – April 21st.  Please bring in any clean used or new clothing to the drop off boxes around the school. .

CAREER CENTRE The Canadian Armed Forces Recruiting Centre Detachment Victoria will be holding an information session TODAY Thursday, April 20th at 6 PM at our Recruitment Centre located at 827 Fort Street, Victoria, BC. This will be a general information session on employment opportunities within the Canadian Armed Forces and how to join our organization. Because our new fiscal year started April 1st, majority of our occupations are now open, which makes this an excellent time to submit an application or learn more about the CAF. There will also be an opportunity to speak to a recruiter and to ask any questions you may have.

*Pearson College Seminar on Youth Leadership 2017 Registration is now open.  www.psyl.ca      Discover Yourself This Summer – July 16 to August 5th 2017 Victoria, BC.  PSYL is an intensive, interactive and experiential learning summer program that aims to strengthen the role that young people play as community and world leaders.  The semester is a unique blend of outdoor and indoor activities that develop the skills needed for participants to grow as leaders.  The program is open to students in grades 10-12.

150 of Canada¹s top youth leaders will be selected for the National Youth Ambassador Caucus in Ottawa this June to shape the national celebration of our nation¹s 150th anniversary of confederation. Expect a highly dynamic experience with like-minded youth leaders from across Canada, learn more about our nation, develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and delve into issues of national importance. *Youth Internship Program (15-18 years) is an opportunity to work with children and build your leadership skills over the summer.  There is a $500.00 dollar honorarium for students who successfully complete the program.  Apply by May 8, 2017 at 4pm.  *The Oak Bay Tea Party Association is looking for volunteers on June 3rd and 4th.  Please see Mrs. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.  These hours are acceptable for the Grad Transition 30 hour requirement.
