Any girls, junior and senior, interested in playing soccer this spring, you have a very important meeting in the big gym at lunch TODAY.  Please see Mrs. Baker, Mr. Fast, or Mr. Moore if you have any questions.

Any track and field athletes interested in fundraising for future trips/team expenses please attend a meeting in the SMALL gym on Wednesday at 11:35am after focus block!

 Attention bakers! Oak Bay Community Leadership is hosting a Valentines Baking Competition. Upload a photo of your baked goods to the google form linked in the app for a chance to win a Bakers prize basket. Winner will be contacted by Tuesday February 16th.  https://forms.gle/RwcW25pQFDAQ85xD7

Design a poster advertising Pink Shirt Day!  Be as creative as you want, anything is allowed as long as it’s a hard copy.  All entries are due February 15th.  There is a cash prize of $50 for 1st place and 2nd place gets $25.  Hand your posters in to Mr. Price in the Black Box.

Mighty Oaks is a way to acknowledge especially extraordinary staff and students. Each week student council will select a name from those submitted and show why they make Oak Bay a better place. If a member of the school community stands out to you, you can nominate them by filling out the from at the link: bit.ly/obmightyoaks

The Oak Bay High Library and English department have a book club contest for you! Check out a book on our contest list, read it then bring it back and ask for an entry form. Lots of prizes to be won! The more you read the more chances to win. Ask for more details at the library. Contest runs till June

GREENBRICKS CAREER EXPLORATION CONFERENCE  Explore your options! Students are invited to experience new career opportunities at this FREE career conference held remotely on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 9:00am – 2:30pm. The “green economy” is changing the face of the workplace in B.C. and around the world. This career conference is open to 150 students in grades 10-12.  This day allows you to interact with career mentors who have excelled in and are passionate about their green careers.  The day includes prizes and a chance to win a $500 scholarship!  Register here before the fills up!  https://oakbaycareercentre.weebly.com/news–events

 The Board Game Café is back!  Come Friday’s at lunch to the Cafeteria for board games, music and fun!

Do you want to be a doctor? Find out how you can earn your MD on Vancouver Island with the Island Medical Program (IMP), which delivers the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in collaboration with UVic and Island Health.  At this special virtual evening information session, you’ll learn about the MD Undergraduate Program and the IMP, the admissions process, what it takes to become a doctor, and what it’s like being in medical school. A Q&A period will follow the presentation.  The info session will be co-hosted by Dr. Shahin Shirzad, Assistant Dean of Admissions, and current IMP medical students. The IMP admissions coordinator will also be on-hand to answer questions.
