The Pascal, Cayley, and Fermat Math Competitions will all be written on Wednesday, Feb. 28th during block 5 and for a few minutes during lunch in the cafeteria.  Bring pencils, erasers, and a basic calculator.  Please come to room 306 ASAP to get a permission form to miss your block 5 class from Ms. Gnocato.  See you all there!

School Musical “Anything Goes” – Tickets can be purchased online, or from Ms. Adams in the Accounts Office.

Junior girls soccer tryouts will be TODAY after school on the turf.

Grade 12 Survivor will be this Thursday at lunch in the Big Gym.  Join in your group of three or come cheer on your favorite team.  There will be prizes for the first place and best dressed team!

The next Nursing Information Session at Camosun is on Feb 22nd from 6-8pm at the Lansdowne Campus in the Fisher building, room 100.

This year, Discover Tectoria will be taking place on Friday, Feb 23rd from 11am to 6pm at the Crystal Gardens. This lands on a Professional Development Day, and VIATEC wants us to spread the word to students and parents!  Discover Tectoria is the Island’s largest tech expo and it’s a great way to spend a Pro-D Day.

Feb 26th to 28th is our Pink Shirt Week to stand up against bullying.  On Monday, we will have our Tree of Kindness display where students can write a kind message to be displayed.  On Tuesday there will be a Pink Bake Sale by the Social Stairs and on Wednesday wear all your pink for the official Pink Shirt Day and have a chance to win a prize for the most pink!!  Be sure to join all the activities.  

Friday March 2nd at lunch in 309.  We are looking for students who have ideas about how to continue to develop what advisory can be for OB students (Big ideas: Meaning, value, connection, function).  The group may be a one time meeting or may continue depending on student interest.

Are you a girl who has what it takes to leave ordinary behind? If you do, then NAV CANADA’s Explore Aviation Summer Camp is made for you!
This summer, 20 girls entering Grade 10 high school from across Canada will gather in Cornwall, Ontario. Their mission: one week of learning, fun and friendship with a focus on aviation. This all-expenses-paid camp uses hands-on learning to give you the chance to explore exciting careers that will empower you to soar to success after graduation!

Who can apply:     ​ Girls going into Grade 10 in September 2018
Where:  ​NAV CENTRE, Cornwall, ON, with day trips to Montreal and Ottawa
When: ​July 15-20, 2018
Cost:     ​No cost to you! It’s paid for by a NAV CANADA bursary, which includes flight, room and board for the week
Why:     ​To inspire you to explore a career in aviation

Marine TASK Spring & Summer Program

South Island Partnership (SIP) would like to offer a new and exciting program to our secondary students: Marine TASK.  This program centers on several trades through a marine lens.  Four safety certifications will also be achieved through the program.  Below, you will see that this has two parts:

an online course (TACC 109 – Trades Access Common Core) from April to June

face to face, hands on instruction at Camosun Interurban in July and August.

Applications are due by March 16, 2018.  Grade 11 or 12 students who are interested in completing the TACC 109 course by distance, and are willing to invest their summer months into this unique and valuable opportunity, please pick up an application in the Career Centre.  Click the link for more information. https://oakbaycareercentre.weebly.com/trades.html
