The Fine Arts Leadership students would like to thank all of the students who participated in the Pink Shirt Day poster contest.  First place goes to Kate Andrews, second place goes to Athena Lynngood.

Pink Shirt Day is fast approaching! Wednesday February 24th is anti-bullying day.  Please wear your pinkest, brightest shirts in order to show your support.

Student representatives from across the district are hoping to collect some information from you in regards to a sustainability plan for schools in the Greater Victoria School District.  The data collected will be presented to the Board of Education.  Please take 2 minutes to complete this survey:  https://forms.gle/hugRkr2ndtrmtmBE7

If you signed up and paid for the University of Waterloo Pascal (Gr.9), Cayley (Gr.10) or Fermat (Gr.11) Mathematics Contest, it is taking place NEXT Wed. Feb.24th from 12:30-1:45pm (during Support Block).  Please bring a pencil, eraser and scientific calculator with you (no phones or other devices allowed).  We’ll provide you with scrap paper and a chocolate bar!!  You can try some past contests to prepare at:  https://www.cemc.uwaterloo.ca/contests/past_contests.html.  Do NOT guess answers.  Blank answers get a zero, but wrong answers get negative points.  Only fill in the multiple choice answer if sure.  Your ranking in Canada, certificates and medal prizes will be awarded in late March.  Stay tuned.  The Gr. 12 Euclid contest is on Wed. April 7th (not next Wed).  Good luck!!

Please come pick up your prize in room 143 with Ms Simpson any day before lunch. GREENBRICKS CAREER EXPLORATION CONFERENCE  Explore your options! Students are invited to experience new career opportunities at this FREE career conference held remotely on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 9:00am – 2:30pm. The “green economy” is changing the face of the workplace in B.C. and around the world. The Oak Bay High Library and English department have a book club contest for you! Check out a book on our contest list, read it then bring it back and ask for an entry form. Lots of prizes to be won! The more you read the more chances to win. Ask for more details at the library. Contest runs till June

We are collecting photos for the Winter Student Life section in the Oak Bay High Yearbook.
