Congratulations to the Barbs for winning back the boot!  The senior boys won 29-8 over SMUS.  The junior boys and senior girls also beat SMUS handily.

CAPSTONE CRUNCH TIME:  Just a reminder to all Grads that Friday is the Final Deadline to submit all requirements for CLC12.

What is UBC Summer Science Program?
UBC Summer Science is a one-week cultural, health and science program for Indigenous students in grades 8-11. The program promotes interest in health and science programs through firsthand experience at the University of British Columbia. The Summer Science Program is a great opportunity to meet new friends, eat great food, connect with Elders/role models while enjoying fun, laughter and learning.
Who: Students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2022
Where: UBC Vancouver campus
When: July 10th-16th (Grades 10 & 11)
 July 17th-23rd (Grades 8 & 9)
Cost: $200 program fee

Science Rendezvous – Free Family Festival!
This year, the University of Victoria and Camosun College partner to bring Science Rendezvous to Victoria for the first time. Science Rendezvous is a national STEM outreach initiative with one of the largest one-day festivals promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in Canada.
Head to UVic or Camosun Interurban (or both!) on May 7 from 10 am to 3 pm to learn side-by-side from real, world-renowned scientists, engineers, mathematicians and computer and software experts who live right here in Victoria. This free event is open to all ages.
Activities include:
Explore why Vancouver Island Rocks! Look at local geology, rocks as part of Earth’s rock cycle, and play fossil detective to identify real fossils.
Vibrabugs: Do a bit of soldering and then race your electronic bug through a maze.
Discover the science behind medical X-rays
Look at stars using the largest telescope on any Canadian university campus

Cyber Security Conference – April 28th 5-8pm
The cyber security workshop aims to help organizations reduce cyber risk in a systematic and consistent way by providing practical guidance on identifying risks, implementing protection and detection security controls, and enabling responding to and recovering from security incidents. UVic Summer Math Camp for Girls entering grade 11 and 12 – July 4th – 8th
This is a summer camp and seminar series open to all women-identifying students who will be entering grade 11 or 12 in September 2022.

Future Global Leaders – UBC
Your students aged 15 to 18 can get a head start on their academic goals with the UBC Future Global Leaders program. This pre-university program is a great way for your students to work out what their passions are while they’re still in high school, and prepare for success at university and beyond by studying a popular course without the stress of exams. Students can attend either online courses that last three weeks or join us on campus in Vancouver, for two-week courses (that combine morning classes, afternoon workshops, and fun social activities). Future Global Leaders runs on various dates in July and August.
