Barbs Rugby will be hosting Claremont on Thursday after school.  Juniors will start at 3:05 PM and Seniors will follow at 4:15 PM.

Interact Club is collecting used small household appliances to donate to refugee families from Ukraine. Check with friends and family, bring donations to room 209 on Wednesday, April 17th at lunch.

AP English 12 review sessions have begun in preparation for the exam on May 14. These review sessions are optional and will take place every Monday and Wednesday at lunch in 216 from April 3 until the exam date.

Are you interested in becoming a police officer? Grade 11 and 12 are invited to apply to join the one-day Secondary Victoria Police Department Springboard on May 14th.  There will also be an Indigenous Victoria Police Department Springboard on May 15th.  Students will explore the world of policing through a behind-the-scenes tour, and interactive and scenario-based activities.  You can pick up an application from Ms. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre if you are interested.  Space is limited, so don’t delay applying. Applications for both are due in to Ms. Giesbrecht by May 8th.

The NACAC International University Fair is returning to Vancouver again this year  on Saturday, April 27, 1 pm – 4 pm. REGISTER

Attention Grade 11 parents: Volunteers needed for Grad Block Party!
We are carrying on an Oak Bay High tradition for Grade 11 parents to help out at the annual Grad ‘Block Party’, so that Grade 12 parents can enjoy the afternoon with their graduating student. Volunteers are needed for two hour shifts at Willows Beach on Friday, May 17th for set up, food and drink, and clean up between 12-6pm. SIP and Camosun are hosting the second Health Exploration Event at Interurban Campus’ Centre for Health and Wellness On Wednesday, May 15th .
Grade 10, 11 and 12 students will see the learning spaces, and hear from instructors, about the  Health dual credit offerings available in the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025. For example: PNUR 101: Anatomy & Physiology, MLAB 139 :Pre Analytics & Lab Principles, Health 111: Indigenous Peoples Health, MOA 155: Medical Terminology.  We will provide busing to and from the event, with pickup and drop-off being at the Tolmie School Board Office.  Pick up an application from Ms. Giesbrecht in the Career Centre and return it by May 8th.

The University of King’s College Halifax will have a table set up outside the Career Centre on Wednesday April 17th at lunch.
Oztrekk representatives will be in the Career Centre after school on Monday April 22nd to talk about direct entry into Law, Medicine and Dentistry through Australian universities.
Concordia University will have a table set up outside the Career Centre at lunch on Wednesday April 24th.

Islands Youth Parliament – Apr 26-28. Ages 14 – 18. Opportunity for youth to learn about government, parliamentary procedure, democracy, and most importantly, how service ties into governance. IYP provides an opportunity for students to advocate for the communities they are part of through debating bills and legislation. 30th IYP Application Form

UVic’s Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics –  IMAGINING UVic (Inspiring Mathematical Growth and Intuition in Girls) is a summer camp aimed at encouraging young women (entering Grade 11 or 12 in September to pursue STEM fields. Practical Nursing is the diploma nursing program and at the end of the 20-month program, students are prepared to become Licensed Practical Nurses.

The Greater Victoria Green Team needs your help! We are working with the University of Victoria’s Campus Planning & Sustainability Department to bring an inclusive community engagement activity to UVic campus (Sedgewick building) on Sunday March 17th!  From 9:45am-1pm on Sunday March 17th we will be removing invasive plants like English ivy from the forest on campus to help increase biodiversity and make the area more resilient and functional for wildlife!  NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! ALL AGES, backgrounds and abilities are invited. Gloves, tools, snacks, educational instruction and a small thank you gift will be provided. Come for as long or as little as you’re able to.
