Grad Breakfast on ThursdayThe Grad Breakfast will be held tomorrow (October 10) at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. All grads are welcome to come and enjoy delicious waffles and baked goods!

Thursday is Team PlanningReminder that tomorrow, October 10, is a Team Planning day. Students begin school (Block E) at 9:25 a.m.

Halloween Dance TicketsThe Halloween Dance is coming up on October 23! Tickets go on sale tomorrow October 10. Come by the cafeteria at lunch to buy your ticket! Tickets are $10 if you buy one this week.

Handball intramurals are starting up on Wednesday the 16th for Juniors and Thursday the 17th for Seniors! Students must make teams of 10 ( 5 guys & 5 girls, 1 teacher may be included) it costs $1 per person to sign up.  bit.ly/obhandball

Attention Grade 11 Students

The SAT exam is required to gain entrance into American universities.  A Practice SAT is scheduled to take place at Oak Bay on October 16th from  8:00am – 12:00pm.  Grade 11 students interested in writing the PSAT need to see Mrs. Giesbrecht to sign up, pay a fee of $25.00 and receive study materials.  Seating is limited and will be offered to students on a first come first serve basis.

Job Opportunities

Are you interested in working for Elections Canada for the upcoming election on October 21st?  It’s great experience and pays really well!  If you are 16 years or over as of October 21st, you can apply to Elections Canada:   https://www.elections.ca/content2.aspx?section=job&dir=pos&document=index&lang=e

You can also visit the local office:  The address is 3970 Shelbourne street (the old CIBC building) and the number is: 1-866-723-1359 – you can ask for recruitment and explain that you are from Oak Bay High and were directed to call about participating in the election.
