All ELL Students Grade 9 – 11 must meet in the Library for MANDATORY assessments, this Thursday, May 10th at 8:15am.  This is during the Team Planning block, so students will not miss any scheduled classes

GRADS HEADED TO UVIC
All students who will be attending UVic next fall are invited to attend a UVic Registration session in the cafeteria on Friday May 25th during focus.  This is a very important session as it explains how to use their system to register for your courses next year.

Reminder to all grade 12’s…
Applications and information on both the Greater Victoria Scholarships and the District Authority Awards can be found in the Career Centre.  Please see Ms. Giesbrecht or Mr. Alexander if you have any questions.  Due date for all awards is June 8th except for the Stephanie Johnson scholarship which is due May 31st

Please let the senior boys sevens team leave at 2:00pm TODAY.  Junior boys need a 2:30pm early dismissal.

Grade 12 are writing on Tues May 15 from 12:30 – 2:00 in Room 218 (Mr. MacKenzie’s Room)
Chem 11 are writing on Wed May 16 during 9:30 to 10:30 in the Library.

Ultimate Frisbee Tournament – After school, May 14th at Lansdowne Middle School.

Oak Bay Short Film Fest premieres again.  Submissions of 5 minutes max being accepted until June 1st.  Festival is Friday, June 8th during Focus.  Any questions please see Mr. Laird.

Pedalheads Bike Camps are looking for paid instructors and volunteers for this summer.

Volunteer Opportunity

The James Bay Market Society  – The James Bay Community Market is an open air, rain or shine market operating on the corner of Menzies and Superior in James Bay every Saturday, May 5th to September 29th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Every week local residents and international travellers shop at the market for fresh farm products and unique artisan creations. The market also has live local music all day along with a fun children’s craft area and a picnic area to relax while you grab a bite to eat from one of our many hot food vendors.
We have several Volunteer positions open including Set Up and Tear Down assistant, Coffee and Information Kiosk Attendant and Children’s Tent Assistant. Task descriptions and application can be found on our webpage: http://jamesbaymarket.com/volunteer/
