The Canadian University Event is taking place in our large gym on Sept. 29th from 8:30 to 11:30. Come and ask questions about programs they offer, what courses are required in high school to apply, and if there are scholarships you can apply for. On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Royal LePage will be hosting the 4th Annual Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk, presented by TD. It’s a 3K walk under the stars at Esquimalt Gorge Park in support of The Cridge Centre for the Family – Transitional Support Services. Event Details & Volunteer Roles: Event Time: 7:00 PM (Volunteers are needed starting at 4:00 PM), Roles: Route marshals, swag and snack table attendants, and event set-up/takedown crew. The Island Women in Science and Technology (iWIST) is hosting another 2026 Future Innovators event. This is a free annual event that seeks to encourage girls and young women to pursue post-secondary education and careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. Five inspiring local role models will participate in a 60-minute panel discussion, followed by a Q&A and informal networking with the students. This year’s event will take place on October 14th between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm at Reynolds Secondary School. Attendees are requested to pre-register for free at https://www.iwist.ca/events/futureinnovators2026.
Police Camp 2027 will be held at St. Margaret’s School from Saturday, March 13 – Saturday, March 20, 2027 for grades 10, 11 & 12. The Marine Careers Expo is a national initiative that brings together Government of
Canada organizations, marine employers, and educational institutions to connect with communities across Canada. Hosted in partnership with the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation, and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Expo features interactive exhibits, engagement with marine professionals, and opportunities to explore careers on the water. October 3 will bring together marine employers, organizations, and educational institutions to showcase the wide range of shipboard and shore-based career opportunities available across Canada’s marine sector. Exhibitors expected to participate include the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Coast Guard, ABCDMI, BC Coast Pilots, BC Ferries, Canada Border Services Agency, CIMarE, Clear Seas, Horizon Maritime, Hullo Ferries, KOTUG Canada, Pacific Pilotage Authority, Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC), and other marine industry partners. Educational institutions and training providers expected to participate include the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Western Maritime Institute and other organizations offering pathways into marine careers. Attendees can register for event updates and learn more about the Marine Careers Expo at: canada.ca/marine-careers
