Attention all boys of Oak Bay: the Boys Club Network has its first meet-up TODAY, at lunch, in Room 219. This is a space for guys to connect, talk, and support each other, and to hear from guest speakers. Everyone is welcome. And yes, there will be free pizza!

April 20th, Bishop’s University will have a table set up outside the career centre at lunch.
April 21st University of King’s College Halifax will have a table outside the career centre at lunch.
Women in Trades & Technology – A one-day, all-female exploration into trades and technology, through four hands-on activities. Throughout the day, you will explore three trades and one technology.
Group/Team 1 will explore Electrical, Carpentry, Pipe trades, and Computer Science.
Group/Team 2 will explore Sheet Metal, Automotive, Fine Furniture, and Electronics Engineering. The event is on Thursday, April 30th, from 9:45-1:45, and lunch is provided. Transportation from a central meeting location will be provided to and from Camosun. To apply for the day, pick up an application from Ms. Giesbrecht and have it back to her by April 24th.
World of Choices Skilled Trades Summit for grades 10 – 12 – A one-day exploration into trades and technology, through four hands-on activities. This event is at Camosun College Interurban – New Trades & Technology Building – Thursday, May 28th, 9:45 am – 1:45 pm (lunch is provided). Transportation from the SD61 Board Office will be provided to and from Camosun. Throughout the day, you will explore three trades and one technology.

Team 2 will explore Sheet Metal, Automotive, Fine Furniture, and Electronics.
To apply for the day, pick up an application from Ms. Giesbrecht and have it back to her by May 22nd.
Greater Victoria residents are invited to a unique courtroom experience on ‘Law Day 2026’, Saturday, April 18th, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Victoria courthouse at 850 Burdett Ave. This event offers a unique opportunity for the public to learn about the law, the legal profession, and the legal institutions that form the cornerstones of Canadian democracy. All are welcome to join the free event and experience a mock trial with characters from the movie Zootopia 2, a judges’ talk, a Saanich Police K-9 Unit demonstration, and tours of the jailhouse. On top of the activities planned for Law Day in Victoria, there will be tables and booths lining the halls of the courthouse with resources from justice-related community groups. Additionally, there will be food trucks and prizes for those in attendance.
Canadian Marine Careers Foundation and SD83 invite you to speak with employees working in ship and shore roles in BC’s vibrant marine transportation sector. British Columbia Island Youth Parliament, IYP, is a parliamentary simulation for youth to learn about government, parliamentary procedure, democracy, and, most importantly, how service ties into governance. IYP provides an opportunity for students to advocate for the communities they are part of through debating bills and legislation.
Island Ignite Mentorship Society is offering a short program tailored to provide young women in grades 11 & 12 (ages 15-18) the opportunity to participate in a firefighting camp on Vancouver Island. Volunteers needed for the 2026 Victoria MS Walk, happening on Sunday, May 31st, at Cadboro-Gyro Park.
MS Walk is a one-day, community-driven fundraising event for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Volunteers are vital to the success of our fundraising efforts, and volunteering at MS Walk is a great opportunity for students to build a strong network, gain valuable experience and skills, and give back to the community. Volunteer shifts range from 2-5 hours, and students are welcome to sign up for multiple roles. PISE is excited to announce that the TD Family Sport and Recreation Festival will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at PISE. This is a FREE community event, and we are looking forward to welcoming families from across the region. We are currently seeking student volunteers who are interested in supporting the festival. Are you a student leader interested in a volunteer opportunity for high school students in community service, event planning, and making a meaningful impact? MS Canada is currently recruiting students to join their volunteer planning committee for their MS Walk in various roles, including Volunteer Coordinator, Route Coordinator, and Promotions Coordinator, as well as Day-of-Event Volunteers. Committee members attend one virtual meeting per month and volunteer in person on event day. The 2026 Victoria MS Walk takes place on Sunday, May 31st.
